Cheers Roger, have a relaxing Easter time with family and friends. Like your project car, thank you for showing us the progress. Hope your CNC doesn't fail you anymore either. 👍💪✌

Thank you for the kind words. I will sort out the CNC issues eventually.

Good stuff man. I recommend a good 1/2" shank router like a Bosch or Makita. In regards to the laptop, my guess is it might be overheating. In my experience with routing MDF, that stuff gets everywhere even with the best setup and the finest dust may have collected inside the laptop's internal heatsink. I bought a computer duster off Amazon called an Xpower and I use it all the time for that kind of stuff, very powerful. Godspeed on getting it back running smoothly

I have a cheap spindle motor that is working ok, so far. It is much quieter than a router. Good idea on the laptop, I will look into that also. Thanks for the feedback and for watching.

You can lower the chance of a grind/crash by slowing down your feeds, and speeds
@basementsupercarbuild29487 ай бұрын
I have tried that somewhat. I cut several parts at 100% speed, with no problem. I have been running around 50-60% recently, to see if that helps. Thanks for watching.

if it isnt a tramming, or axial play issue. try on a test part changing the cutting speed. either slowing it down and or speeding it up taking note of the wear. also tool speed can be a huge factor when working with a cnc mill that can extremely alter tool life. does the tool manufacturer have speed and feeds for that specific bit? and if so are yours close. very cool build, reminds me of how the interior of a palatov d2 is made. keep it up. very neat.

I am playing with speeds today. I am also thinking about changing the cut depths also. Right now I am cutting in 1/2” depths, I might try less depth on my next part, maybe 1/4-3/8” deep cuts. Thanks for the comments and thanks for watching.

goodluck with your CNC machine. mine broke aswell I just ended up selling mine it was to much trouble for me to make worth it. Also I was wondering if you could give a list of everything you use when making carbon fiber parts. i watched your video where you made them but you used a few layers I wasn't sure what they where and I want to try and replicate your method cause it looks like its working super good.

Thank you. I have been using a couple of different layups. I am using 3 layers of 600 gram 12K carbon fiber on some parts. I am using 2 layers of 600 gram 12K carbon fiber with a layer of Soric in between the two layers. The Soric adds a little strength to the part but the Soric absorbs more resin and will weigh more.

@@basementsupercarbuild2948 awesome thank you I appreciate it! I’ve been watching this build since pretty much the start and the progress is so crazy to me can’t wait to see it finished
