Phenomenal, Scott! Your skill, diligence and artistic style have resulted in yet another top-shelf project. Great results come from inspired work and you have no shortage of inspiration, that's for sure. The faux cement wall looks very cool and those brackets you manufactured, including the bolts made from bar stock, are over the top. Nice idea, that beam. Can't wait to see what "stuff" you add to it, hopefully not a Sherman tank. Cheers!

That turned out really nice. It's great to have a room like that, away from the grime and dust. I have just completed putting up Gyproc in our new living room and am halfway through laying down the laminate flooring. Fell over in the workshop and banged my knee on steel tubing so the rest of the floor will have to wait until the swelling goes down. After the living room it's on to an extensive workshop rebuild so I can move larger machinery in there. No rest for the wicked.
@ScottTurnerformeindustrious5 ай бұрын
Thanks for that Michael! I hope your knee comes good fast. Flooring is tough on the knees I know. I loose a bit of workshop space but gain a segregated clean fun area. It will all work out as I still have plenty of space in the workshop. Thanks again and all the very best!

Looks great. I have been surprised before that mud daubers (we call them dirt daubers in Alabama) are so common there on the other side of the planet. They're universal. Gyp rock is new to me. Used to be sheet rock here, but nowadays everybody calls it drywall.
@ScottTurnerformeindustrious5 ай бұрын
Thank you Wayne! With all our wet weather there is no shortage of mud for these daubers to nest up. They put little spiders in the nest with the lavae so food is ready at hand. Yes we call it the brand name Gyprock here. We are familiar with the Sheet Rock or drywall terms as well. All the best Wayne!

If you tackle a faux concrete wall again try adding a small amount of vinegar to your water when you mix the plaster. It’s an old model railroad trick for doing scenery. Alum powder and Borax supposedly work too but I’ve never tried those.
