Bro. Watching this video is giving me an itch. I need to switch before I start ordering some parts. Looks on point👍

Thanks! It came out to be expensive around 5000 dollars with everything that wasn't included. A v3 vortech might be better for the money and effort. We are almost done with it though. We need like 10 things left. We will see if we can start it soon. www.summitracing.com/parts/vor-4gp218-050l?seid=srese1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwyLGjBhDKARIsAFRNgW-REAtPjisI-MwhNXEZQLvvP0vxLwlL4CmGJKbbAo5ML2MndguLCXQaAmoAEALw_wcB

Looks like a lot of work !!!! Did you ever think about a 142 mini blower and a cowl hood. If it’s just going to be a pump gas motor and an aiming point of about 5-550 horsepower then this would have been a much easier and quicker and cheaper route to getting back on the road. 👍

It's taking some time. I wanted a v3 vortech which costs 3500, but the initial cost was cheaper for the turbos at 1500. We got a e85 blow through 750 carb to put on it.
@joshuamyers81182 жыл бұрын
I take that back won't make a difference which side but you can get a smaller pulley for the alt

😮No oil feed line to the turbos will ruin the turbos bearings on start up!

I got them on now. kzbin.info/www/bejne/imrTh5VqjquZoqcsi=lsX5wopbP1kLoXfD

Have you tried to put the alternator on the driver side down low I did that on my pick up truck and it worked out pretty good
@dragsterfranklin40732 жыл бұрын
We are going to try that. There are no bolt threads. We are making a plate to mount it there in that location.

@@dragsterfranklin4073 i put mine on the passenger side
@dragsterfranklin40732 жыл бұрын
@@supercharged6771 Do you have the same turbo kit? Let me know more about your stuff. I don't think the passenger side original location will clear the electric water pump.

I'm interested to see the results. Is there any way you could shorten up the tubing more to reduce the volume? Seems kind of excessive? It does look like you are just mocking stuff up for now though. Good luck brother! Aloha
@dragsterfranklin40732 жыл бұрын
No, I don't think we can shorten up the piping. The only way to do that is to run no intercooler. Yeah, we are mocking it up/ building. I'm hoping it will be running in 6 months to a year.

We have about 30 things to do and buy on a list.

was that holley carb you use or using a blow through carb or what kind are you running.
@dragsterfranklin4073 Жыл бұрын
we have a blow thru e 85 carb we will switch to when running

No power steering??
@joshuamyers81182 жыл бұрын
Grab a shorter belt for your alternator running it that vlose to your exhaust is bound to be a problem even if you heat wrap it.
@dragsterfranklin40732 жыл бұрын
that is the only way we can run it. we hope it works. it also gets close to the water pump. when we pull on it, it clears though. no other belt cleared. we used 52.5. 51, 52, and 53 didn't fit.
@dragsterfranklin40732 жыл бұрын
It has a 1/2 inch to one inch clearance away from the header and we do have heat wrap.
@joshuamyers81182 жыл бұрын
If you get and older style alt. Bracket you can mount it on the passenger side and use an LS vortec belt tensioner that get it away from the w.pump and bring it in away from the manifold
@dragsterfranklin40732 жыл бұрын
We will think about using the passenger mount if it fits. We still have alot of time before it gets started. The driver side low mount would work if we had threads in the two bolt holes near the timing cover.
@joshuamyers81182 жыл бұрын
@@dragsterfranklin4073 you could retap the holes but also that alot of charge pipe you'll lose alot of boost from that if you are able you join the charge pipes sooner and get a vertical outlet and side inlets you can reduce the loss boost pressure and you'll definitely want to get a sniper efi standalone carb. It's basically best of both carb and efi built into one and it's has a very simple standalone ecm very easy to work with and not major expensive will make thing much easy to deal with later when it comes to fuel and timing and boost.

hey just saying you dont need that intercooler with a blow through setup here's a video to better describe it kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKvZqot9rLSAmdk
