Congratulations on your marriage! This is absolutely beautiful! You did a wonderful job- I’m thinking of building one for a beach wedding for a friend- any suggestions on weighting it down on the sand and in case it’s windy?

How much did it cost? Would it be more cost effective to build your own if you don't have any tools to start with or buy one?

Great job on the cross. My son wants me to build one for his wedding next month. The only 4x6 lumber I can find from the big box stores is treated. Can you tell me if the lumber you used was treated or untreated? I noticed you bought it from Home Depot.

Hi Mike! First thanks so much for watching! Congratulations on your son’s wedding coming up! 😄 And I used regular (untreated) lumber, then used an angle grinder to get that texture, then stained it to get that dark color. I would think that pressure treated lumber stains very good if that’s something you want to do, I’ve never tried staining that. I will say that pressure treated is made for outdoors (it holds up better for a long period of time). But it stains your hands when you touch it since it’s been treated. I recommend going early in the morning to Home Depot to hopefully get a good pick of regular lumber. Good luck with everything! It was a fun little project for me!

Hello, what are the dimensions of the Cross, me and my fiance would like to build one for our wedding as well? Thank you!

Hi Dakota! 😁 First of all congrats on the engagement! 🥳 That’s awesome! And the cross adds the perfect touch👌🏼 So I got two 8ft 4x6 pieces of lumber. The cross height is 8ft. And the horizontal piece is 53.5 inches. And that’s it! Just four 3 inch screws holding together. And I built the base out of a 2x6 👍🏼 Hope you two have a fantastic wedding! Let us know if you have any other questions 😄

@@JonnyRichMusic That’s a good question! Measuring up from the bottom, the cut is 66.5 inches and 72 inches; making the horizontal slide right in 👍🏼(the top of the horizontal piece is 6 feet off the ground) I hope this helps!
