Nagarajan , i am an elder citizen. I bless you and salute you at the same time. We need many more Nagarajans, pioneers who will change this country. In my generation we worshipped Dr. Verghese Kurien the creator of Amul. You are our new heroes. Please realise your dreams by being humble and committed - by growing ten times your current size at the earliest. God bless you.

Wow!! I felt blissful hearing his/NinjaKart's story. First of all fresh produce delivery directly from farmer to consumer is one of the hardest things to successfully crack in India. Which they have cracked it seems. Secondly, if NinjaKart or a similar startup manages to get the penetration in the same levels as Flipkart/Amazon in India then a lot of middle men and retail sellers go out of business. It's a good thing in one perspective but bad thing in other. I'd like to think this farmer to consumer direct delivery model gains momentum steadily over a good amount of time so that its effect on middle men and retail sellers are not harsh like a whip. Lastly, this creates a great opportunity to farmers all over the country to become the rightful owners of their produce and may revolutionize agriculture as a profession in India.

Thank you for this presentation about very impressive work. Clarifying question - how do you decide (at Ninjacart) what is the price you pay the farmer for the produce? I am curious about the basis of the statement that farmers get paid 10-15% more for produce when dealing with Ninjacart. You have mentioned in the interview that transactions in APMC mandis are not transparent and difficult to track. Please clarify the basis for the asserting that farmers get 10-15% higher accruals. Great job scaling up and hats off to the entrepreneurs who are taking tough India-specific challenges by the horns!

This is false..that they buy directly from farmers.this company been in my village.they have sub trader which then buy from local traders, local traders buy from farmer's.This is existed business model which is not good for the farmer.they are just marketing their company as kalifa of farmer's.their sub trader also didn't pay the light bills of rented room & ran away.I too a farmer.

Tell me if it profitable yet, can you scale it without the help of local set-up that traders, they understand markets and local economy much better, you just can't go and install collection centre at all places, you will eventually end up connecting to these local traders which makes your business model essentially same to what we have right now but at a much bigger scale, mandi scale you can't reach where you get to see trucks coming in, here you are just targetting big enterprises who consumes less than 1 percentage, mostly it's consumed by end users who you have left, even if you capture them , there are many issues related to credit and distribution, Thiru, don't make people fool. Getting funded is one thing but being profitable is another, you still have little clarity of market, i have been doing my research and seeing some obvious problems...and this reporter has no idea of what to ask,she is just scratching the surface...

Hey Learners paradise, my family is doing agriculture. I get your point that the proportion of vegetable sales in cities(major consumption point ) are still significantly done by unorganised grocery shops, push carts, people also sell vegetables and fruits in small tata aces. Also from the farmer end, the idea of a company to contact them efficiently (cutting middlemen), doing that across various states of the country where the corresponding nuances might vary sounds challenging and fascinating at the same time given the potential opportunities it can open up. I myself has been pondering asked the people here(village farmers and the mandi people) as to hiw they are operating, their challenges and stuff. I would like a lot, for us to share our thoughts and discuss about this. As for the privacy concern, i suggest we can use reddit or discord.
