Put a cemented base where to attach your wooden post to protect from termites and easily rotten. Do not foget to apply anti termite chemical in your land where your cottage Will be constructed... Thermites can damage your house for a day..

The workers built the shelter really quickly. The gifts were very useful for the new kitchen when the house is built. The knife block is very expensive and useful, a very generous lady sending all that!

You can also bore a hole in a hard brittle wood using a drill before hammering a nail into it in order to prevent the brittle wood from cracking. But of course the hole should be slightly smaller than the nail to give a strong and firm bond.

What beautiful, generous gifts! Your kitchen will look very nice with the turquoise hanging measuring cups, the Oneida set of silverware (Oneida is a great stainless steel brand!) and the elegant stainless knives that you put in the wooden block that accompany them. Each knife has its own proper place or size hole. You get to find each knife’s matching hole. The scissors belong in the square hole in the middle. Ang straw ay madaling lumutong sa init ng araw hinde magtatagal ang serbisyo nyan mas maganda kung merong rattan na kinayas at siyang ipangtatahi sa nipa. Pwede rin ang nylon. Suggestion ko lang darlene sayang kc ng effort.

I agree with this comment. Rattan strips or "uway" in the Bisaya language are much stronger and more long-lasting than straw twine. Rural filipino houses in the past use rattan strips to fasten the nipa shingles roofing.

Don't boil the water for the matcha! Preboiling temperature over 72C is too hot. You will destroy the good stuff in the matcha.

Here we use plastic like rattan in putting nipa roof. It's durable and stays long. Hope you don't use straw lace, it will only last for a year and will brittle..

This nipa stays in good condition about 5 years only...after that has to repair. Natural way to make bambu last against rains and termites is to sink these about 1 month in a mud.

the Philippines if full of termites and other insects that eats the bamboos, woods etc, so just a suggestions, while the ground is not yet developed, treat the soil and your land surrounding your place to be built from termites, you can inquire about the soil treatment, and mixed it about a two-feet under on the whole place you are going to built to ensure at least a 10-yearfreefrom termites and other infestations...and then another treatment every 5 years hence
