Building Scarif in LEGO - Week 12: Landing Pad

Either a U-wing or a Blue Squadron X-wing because both of those crash to the beach in the film

Scarif is looking better with each segment, I'm loving the outline for the bunker it's the perfect size for the moc.

the size of the landings platform is very good indeed, not to small and certainly not to big for the MOC. the studs is indeed a lot of work, but it looks like very awesome on the MOC with the breaking wave on the beach

David it's looking great! Also I will suggest that you put a crashed u wing on the ground eventually and maybe some cool dogfights in the sky (tie striker vs x wing) anyway it's your moc so do what you want to do 😊

A great build going on there. One thing to notice is to add some variation to the waves crashing to the shore. Also matching the crashings with the waves (meaning that you can have the clear pieces on the shore only in places where the waves would crash in real life) So you shouldn't have clear pieces behind that "corner" on the beach line (located on section 1 in the corner closest to the platform)

The landing pad looks great. I really like how you mixed dark and light gray together. But can you please put a crashed blue squadron x-wing in the new little water area instead of a little island? Other people in the comments are saying that too and I agree.

Have you looked at the Scarif DLC on Star Wars Battlefront for inspiration? you can have plenty of views of the landing pads + bunkers there besides what you get to see in rouge one! they also have bridges between the islands, maybe you could consider one of those leading off where you have that remainder of water to fill in?

The landing pad looks great! The building may have to extend out a bit further for a more accurate look but as long as you can incorporate the track that comes out the back of it. Unfortunately I missed seeing you at Celebration because I was there on Sunday but it's cool to see you had a great time :)

David I think that for future mocs you should plan it with Lego Digital Designer. It will help a lot if you are waiting on parts or just don't have them. You can also experiment with minifigs and building techniques.

The landing pad looks fine. However, have you considered putting plain white studs with the clear studs on the sea foam? If you look at where the ocean meets actual beaches, sea foam isn't really transparent. It's more translucent.

I think that that size is pretty accurate and I like it, but you have to remember, I saw where you put Jyn and Cassian with the Death Star plans and they didn't get from the bunker they got it from the citadel, this was the only thing I didn't like about the Lego set when it came out.

Also I would go with a larger platform. The width is ok now, but would you try out making it more square? I would look more like it could actually fit a shuttle/ship

later on, make craters using black/grey bricks to show that the at-act blasted and shot at people on the ground, it would add character also make crates but damged/destroyed to show that a battle is taking place

Good size 4 the landing pad. As other commenters have said, add a crashed x- wing or tie fighter. Personally, I would prefer a crashed tie fighter. Add some fire add debris around the crashed tie fighter plz. Maybe, if you can, add a crater were the tie fighter crashed and darken the sand in the crash site.

i think the landing pad is a perfect size, and the arrows will look cool. Scarif is looking awesome. will u build the cargo ship from rogue one. i think if u did, it would make Scarif heaps better. im making a suggestion here, but it might cost more money, but I think it would be cool to add another AT-AT or AT-ACT walker. but thats only a suggestion. cant wait for the next segment. this moc will be great. thx for the video, helps me alot with my small mocs.
