Dave. I watched this video on Monday here in the UK. You and your team are inspirational and endlessly entertaining. I started following the channel on the word of my Dad who also followed and watched your videos. He loved off-roading and recovery and here in the UK was a well respected amateur. Sadly he died on Monday after a long battle with cancer! But, thanks to you and the like…….. he had entertainment, education and something to talk about and share with friends. I'm watching this as a swiss person working at a construction company and I have to say i'm pretty impressed. With such a big excavator on to the top of the hill is a riscy job. Our company has many jobs at steep places normally laying pipes and doing excavation for houses etc. I don't know how popular these are in the US, but in switzerland probably every construction company has an walking excavator (Menzi Muck or Kaiser). As of my standpoint of view it would have bin a lot easyer if you used such an walking excavator to go up that hill and do that job. Also we use them not only for steep job sites. They are also very practical for jobs with narrow spaces and jobs in a pond with deeper water. They are very versatile in use and can be used for almost every job you can imagine. From demolition to normal excavation work ( in tight spaces or a very deep excavation) to working at a hill or in deeper water. I love them and wouldn't know what to do without them. In addition I have to say most of our equipment is equiped with Oil Quick. It makes it easier to change attachments and so you use more things at one job and it makes it easier to carry it with you when working at hillsite.

I can imagine setting there having a conversation with Alan it would either be hours or minutes. He just looks like that type of person who will read your vibes and if he thinks that you are full of it he is done and will send you packing. He is definitely a great add to your team and you never see him just walk away from the job no matter how big or small. Life at the compound seems to be a different story with tons of started or half completed jobs. It's almost like he is all in at first and then SQUIRREL and he loses his train of thought and starts something totally different. 🤔

I think it is more like Alan can see the whole thing in his head as he wants it to be. So he starts things that he already knows need to be done before he can move onto others. Doesn't mean those things need to be 'finished'...just that they needed to be to a certain point before 'larger' things could take place. Think about it like Lego's, or model building...there are a lot of small steps that need to be done before 'main assembly' can begin. This is no different.

Alan is absolutely a wizard that seems to be willing to help anyone with virtually any task. He must wake-up from his dreams to be disappointed by reality. You have to love the guy, and his can-do attitude on any task that he gets asked to do is amazing… I absolutely love him as an addition to Heavy D’s team…

It's to store equipment and supplies at the top of the mountain and get it out of that unpredictable weather. It also creates more room up there since it's pretty much packed out.
