@@malonedrum Will do! So far I've only made a quick and dirty "pedall board" for my gear. Just started playing for a local artist and I have been spoiled to using IEMs. So I build a little rig that stays all wired up and helps keep the sound consentant for me. I've got my Yamaha EAD-10 to mic my drums and my Dr. Beat all running into a little behringer mixer. Then at practice, I take a line out the guys combo amp to run into my mixer so I have his accostic and vox. Then at shows I do the same or run the floor wedge line into it. Anywho, I got tired of setting all that up every time so I grabbed a bit of scrap wood and built a little board for it. Got everything strapped down and it even fits inside one of those pelican style boxes. So now I just pull it out, run power, place the mic, run the two lines i need, and I ready to roll! Next up on the list (and this has been on the list for years) is to fix up an old CB-700 kit a friend gave to me. Needs some cleaning and I need to replace some missing hardware BUT I am looking forward to it. Plan to fix it up and use that at rehearsals so that I don't have to break down my kit every week.

A man after my own heart. Being creative, willing to experiment and being resourceful all at the same time. Cheers! P.S. Those CB 700 wristwatch style lugs are some of my personal favorites. I just finished a purple glitter concert tom set with all CB wristwatch style lugs and they look amazing in my opinion! ♪♫♪

Excellent video as always, Mike!! Very cool to see a 14 and 16 added to the set of concert toms!! They look and sound great, and that mix with the EQ and effects is incredible. Contrary to what some may say about the color, I think the green looks fantastic- it's not something you see every day on drums so it gives a really unique look. I know you said you don't use these a lot but who knows? If you're ever in a situation where you need to bring a small kit with minimal gear and don't have a ton of room for full sized toms, such as the small jazz gig you did in the video of 3 gigs in one day, maybe you could bring a couple of these such as the 10 and 14 to save space. These could look cool alongside the shallow kick drum you used in that video!!
@malonedrum
@malonedrum Жыл бұрын
I'm sure there could be a use for them one day, but the sound is so different, I could never see myself playing jazz on them, but Im sure at some point I'll find a track to use them on!

No 6"?! How dare u? .. :p For real.. I feel nearly dumb: for several years now I could not care lass about high end drums but for more than a year now: I fell back in da rabbit hole of high end drums! .. But now.. Listening that part going back and forth between eq/fx on and off.. Daaamn it brings you up in the face how much sound processing is faaaar more important than that "bubinga/ash/ sugar maple/African exotic wood delirium ridiculous expensive drums!!! .. Inspiring content! And also tnx for having me discovered your backing tracks source!! ..yeah.. Complete it with that bass drum and snare .. :p
