You did a really great job with the 71.. I really like your color choice. You built a nice clean & simple Hot Mom car. 😂 I've always loved the Dusters & Demons.. And even the Darts were kinda cool if you put some nice wheels and tires on one.. I had 72 Duster, built up 318 .. Again, very cool build.👍🦅🇺🇲

😊BEAUTIFUL build & fun car! I started to order that kit this week & didn't. Now I'm thinking I need to go back & get it. A friend of mine also turned out a great build w/that same kit. Especially liked your interior choices. We stopped doing builds w/black int b/c they don't show up details well at all, but your seat color made all the difference. We recently did l97o Dodge Coronet Super Bee kit w/Plum Crazy purple exterior that was so popular then. We set off black carpet & dash w/white seating & door panels - just like our neighbor's Super Bee back in the day - and it came out looking awesome! If you ever do this Mopar purple I highly recommend black & white interior.❤

Interesting video pace, and I like your color choices. I agree the gauge decals look better when available, and AMT has been including them with newer releases as they happen, I believe. Your builds would be greatly improved with air brushing and wet sanding, to make the finish shine better. Otherwise, great job.
@jennifercole281 Жыл бұрын
Final step after all assemblies are completed, we always finish exterior w/brushed on coat of clear floor polish. It's thicker so there's no brush strokes showing and we consistently get a much more lustrous & forgiving glossy top coat than we ever achieved with clear spray paint gloss👍 (it will, for example, completely conceal all the "orange peel" dimpling in the ext paint). Everyone's got their techniques but we find this works great on our builds. It also makes clear plastic windows look just like real glass.
@rayrussell6258 Жыл бұрын
@@jennifercole281 I wouldn't have commented if the finish quality was good. Sorry, but only 2 seconds into the video, where you sneak peak the end product, the finish shows up as rough. @ 0:02 Even at the end of video, the roughness and flat appearance is still there. @ 13:26 , for instance the rear quarter panel is not smooth. Now if you apply your clear, but don't show it on video after you applied the clear, then we can only comment on what we see. I used to brush paint 50 years ago when I built models, I'll never go back to that. I still recommend you airbrush and wet sand. You will see tremendous improvement in finish. Clear floor polish is inadequate. I see one very popular kit builder on youtube who uses that, and his builds are good except for his paint. But he cranks out his builds quicker that way, because he does no sanding whatsoever. Just to clarify, I think your overall build is very very good. I just think you can do better on the painting.

When I was a kid building the old AMT car kits, I hated that white plastic. It was hard to see and work with…it often rejected the cement or melted too quickly.

Como retroalimentación a tu trabajo, la pintura de la carrocería quedó con efecto de "piel de naranja". Para eso pule y encera la pintura de tu modelo. Luciría mucho mejor.

That is fair, I am the spray it a few times and clear coat it kind of builder. Sanding and air brushing is not something I do for now.

@@seeds4hobbies Spray it at least 2 times, 1 time and let it sit (2 min) and then spray it 2 or 3 times wet in wet. Normaly I use a primer to build up and then sanding, and painting (I use spraycans as you do) Another time you can sand it down and give it a respray

@@seeds4hobbiesWe brush on clear floor polish for a very forgiving, thick shine. It will conceal all the exterior paint dimpling - but it really doesn't show up that much on this deep blue. I'm sure it's just exaggerated by the video lighting, you'll find it less noticeable displayed on the shelf.❤ You did a great job!

This is a very nice model kit, most AMT kits have issues with several small things , when I built this it was a breeze . You did a very nice job on your building, that was a nice color choice for the seats. I agree with you on the fact that the front part of the chassis is separate. Just subscribed to your channel . What else do you like to build? Big rigs , construction equipment? Looking forward to more great builds.👍
@seeds4hobbies2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment and welcome to the channel! I also like to build military vehicles but currently into cars as you can see. Never built a big rig before but something I always wanted to do, any suggestions for a first one? Hope to see you at the next build 🤟
@haroldburch5412 жыл бұрын
I have never built any military models, or science fiction , or the show rods. I'm mostly into the older muscle cars and big rigs. As far as a first time build of a big rig, I would recommend staying away from any of the AMT big rigs for your first one. I'm not knocking AMT at all, its just that some of those kits can be very finicky and the directions are sometimes not as clear. Maybe start out with one of Revels big rig kits they have several that the frame is already built, you just build the rest of the model. Those kits go together nicely and look very good. After that first kit then If you like building big rigs get yourself anyone of the AMT kits or other brands. They are all great kits. I think its just the large amount of parts that make those kits look intimidating. Some of the kits are 250 -400 parts, AMT has several kits that have over 500 parts. You seem like you have patience ,and like to figure out problems, I'm positive you will enjoy and do well building your first big rig. I sure hope.to see it when its finished. Im waiting for your next build. Happy modeling.
