A Friend 1 day ago Greetings from Somerset, MA. I just recently found you on you tube creating World War II material and others. I just finished watching your work on the Patton Tank, Fabulous, lost for words, outstanding are you getting the point here! Man, you are good, no no no you're good. We will probably never meet but that's okay we will in spirit. So you know, I have stage 4 lung cancer and everyday is a blessing for me. My doctors told me to stay busy keep my brain occupied. You are my inspiration! You're the man I turn to when I'm down. Guess what I do when I'm down in the dumps. YEAH...… I'm a tank modeler now. I slowly getting my stuff and putting little pieces of plastic together and at the end, I created something beautiful. Thanks to you my friend.....God Bless...

Andy, great job on the M60. I've got a large stash of 1/35 model AFVs. I've been off work for 2yrs.with a diabetic related medical condition, I've been in and out of depression. Once I found your KZbin site, I've been inspired to get stuck into some model building. Thanks. mate.

I think you did an awesome job and the technique with the tarps over the bustle racks is a great idea. One in the snowy environment you would have tarps over it to keep Snow from getting down inside your personal gear food and spare fuel. Keep the videos coming.

I play this tank in Armored Warfare MMO and it is great to see the tank in a more 'real' manner. I love the way your little spots of weathering end up looking so realistic. Thanks for showing the details and sharing your passion for the hobby.

Academy Models look like quality products. I usually swear by Tamiya products, but I am going to give Academy a try. Another great video!

this is an old Tamiya kit with just a few updates some of them inappropriate like the top opening air cleaners The M60A2 was only produced with side opening air cleaner boxes

@@samm1561 Academy has long copied Tamiya kits... I was stationed with a Bradley Unit in Korea between 1991 and 1992 and when they found out I built models, I must have built 20 Academy M2 Bradleys... direct copies of the Tamiya kit.

I'm 69 Andy ...have not built Models since I went into the Air Force at 18 !! Have started back because of you and a few other sites. I'm on the Nimitz now...one of four so far. BUT I went back to my Parents basement where I STILL have a bunch of them still on shelves. Brought back 4 ships and 2 armor models and cleaned and restored them after 58 years !! I restored a M-4 Sherman that was tooled in 1960. love the Hobby.

Andy!!!! What an EPIC paint job you have done! The weathering is awesome! Great job!!! I have been inside of a Starship's turret before.... roomy! This tank had the potential to be very devastating with its 152mm gun that also had the MGM-51 Shillelagh anti-tank missile system. But sadly this tank did not live up to expectations and the whole program was ditched, but not before a few where made.

Another excellent build. The rust looks great! While I don't mind seeing a new looking vehicle, having one beaten up a bit every once in a while is a good change. PS - don't mind the nay sayers. Build and paint it the way you want. We're behind you. ;)

@MrNadefodder8 жыл бұрын
For the storage racks or any hand rails you should use the wire they use in the jewellery craft, you can get it from sizes 0.1mm up to 2mm, it is much cheaper than brass rod or copper and its strong and takes paint well. Just a thought because I find they break when you take them off the sprue more often than not. Thanks for the videos, taught me loads.

Very nice model as always Andy. It sure is a wierd looking tank to say the least. Have you ever concidered building some Swedish vehicles? Like an S-tank or a CV9040. I think they would look really good in your cabinet and would sure raise a few eyebrows ans they are not the most common tanks to build as a modelkit. Thanks for all the good videos.

The work on the tracks was simply fantastic, this tank had a sort of sci-fi wibe on it, such as from a WH40K novel, ironically this version was reputed a waste of public's money. Also the camo scheme is intriguing, different from the classic ones

Tanks that are actually in service almost never have rust on them. even the track will only have rust on it if the vehicle that hasn't moved for weeks. Tracks of a tank in muddy condition will have a fine even coat of mud looking just like lumpy gloss paint dependent of course on the consistency of the mud. Tracks Of Tanks operating in snowy conditions will be spotless rubber, paint and bare metal scrubbed clean by the snow and ice. I had a lot of fun driving an M60A1 in the snow (Picture of a 57 ton 750 horsepower snowmobile)
@Lonewolf65655 жыл бұрын
This kit looks like they got their hands on a Tamiya M60A2 kit and made their own molds using Tamiyas sprue designs as a starting point. The hull deck piece is exactly like a Tamiya patton.

When I was posted at Ft.Hood,TX. I worked on the last battalion of M60-2. What a POS of a tank. The turret components constantly broke down. The circuit boards for the fire control system were not shock mounted so when firing the main gun or even just driving it over ruff terrain the vibration would disable the electronic. It fired two different rounds. One was a guided missile rocket propelled which depended on the fragile electronics, and The second round was a charge bag high explosive much like an artillery. With two completely different types of main gun rounds it made for a lagistcal problem supply the tank. The main guns breach was a electric motor driven interrupted thread type that was know to not completely sealed when closed and when fired the hot gas would escape and burn the crew if not kill. The vertical slab side of the turret was the perfect surface for a enemy tank round to penetrate. It was always a joke to drive the tank onto a HET, carefully transport it to the top a mountain and park there and hopefully it doesn't need to fired more than a couple times. Chrysler should of hung it's head in shame for this crew killer. This tank was decommissioned in the time I at Ft.Hood and they were replaced with the M60-A3 which was an updated version of the original M60.

Yes, nice kit. However, the only time I'd seen a tank that distressed was when it was on the back of a transporter on its way to the scrapyard after spending 45 years in a field in France!

The rust effect looks just like real rust. I would cut small pieces of paper towels then paint them brown or OD. When paint dried I'd carefully roll them up as one would do with an actual tarp. Wrap brown thread near ends and toss up on fenders near engine vents or hang off turret. Sometimes to cover imperfections or the occasional booboo. The last thing I want is for armor to appear it just came from the factory.
