I have come back to this video several times because I wanted this model since it came out. I started it last year(!) and had horrendous trouble with the tracks. Started over and re-started over trying to get the tracks to work. I finally gave up and found some aftermarket rubber band tracks on eBay. Your track technique has worked for me over and over again...but not with these track links! Now I'm studying your weathering techniques to finish the tank even though instead of your black/white shadowing I used Ammo Modulation paints. Once I'm absolutely done with weathering, I'll post on Facebook although I'll get hit with, "those aren't the right tracks for that model", I'm sure. Love your vids, your FB pages and your store, Andy. Thanks for all you do for us out here. BoyScoutWilliams

Hi iv just cracked in to my stash and away to start this now, what a kit the detailing is just unbelievable! Only thing iv just noticed is the seem line down the cast hull iv tried to lighty sand it but not sure if it'll show up when paints on or what yet and not wanting to go any harder I dont want to take the casting effect out the hull, I was thinking of using abit of wet putty iv got to kinda give more texture to it not sure yet want to rewatch your video and see if you done anything with this or if noticable when paints down

I'm impressed by the Takom models. Never built one so far, but they are on my 'To Do' list. I like your painting and weathering on the model. Do you not make the arial for the tank? You have the base, but no actual arial.
@beuford19826 жыл бұрын
Nice build Andy. I haven’t seen this kit built until now. I’m currently working on the M3 Lee (early) from Takom. Unfortunately the tracks don’t fit as well on it as they do on this version of the vehicle. It’s about 1/2 a link to short, and adding a link makes it too loose.

Andy, what type of thinner do you use with Tamiya panel liner for weathering? I had clear coated a project with testors spray dull coat and then tried using some testors thinner (the little glass bottles) and Tamiya panel liner to weather but it ended up causing my base paint coat to strip
@AndysHobbyHeadquarters6 жыл бұрын
I use ordorless enemal thinner over lacquer clear coat

Hi, do you made 1/48 scale models, and how do you weathering those models? The size is much smaller and it's not easy to apply all effects to be clearly visible. Recently I made my first model (Tamiya Matilda MK III/IV in 1/48 scale), but it's already looking good and I even rethink about weathering it at all. I am not planning to make diorama or so. PS. Anyway thank you for your videos. I used them as tutorial for my first model. :)

Hey Andy, I was looking for glue with a brush like you have at my local modeling shop, but they didn't have any. Do you knie where I could buy them.
