Maybe it wasn't there before, but the 2024 iX owner's manual, page 19, tells you how to open it. Strangely, doesn't say how to close it.

I had an incident in Hermosillo, Sonora, with my BMW iX xDrive50, which unexpectedly accelerated while turning at low speed, something that has been documented as an issue by the NHTSA in the United States, though there is no regulatory body to investigate it in Mexico. I’m concerned about the safety of this technology, as there have been other serious cases reported. However, BMW Mexico does not recognize this as a technical fault and claims it was human error, despite my request to exchange the vehicle to ensure my safety. The company will review my request with the distributor but requires payment of the deductible, leaving my concern about a potential defect in the vehicle unresolved.

I've owned 4 3 series BMWs, a 330ci, 2 335s and an M3 because they were classic, beautiful cars. Now BMW is producing gaudy, ugly crap and I'll never buy another one!
