Honourable mentions always go down a feckin treat. Cheers boys! I've always thought the turbo wotsit looks like a hairdryer. You're very welcome. 😊

Ah, so the noise was turbocharger surge! And now we have blow off valves to prevent the flow reversal of the air. Great searches by the way, can’t wait to see how the finished car is!

BEAUTIFUL BUILD! Does the water cooling of the waste gate work by convection or using a pump? Your work is more clean than a surgen’s!
@EPSDaveRowe11 ай бұрын
We are not going to use the water through the gate. It normally just gets the cooling system water to pass through it to keep it cool.
@KiG120811 ай бұрын
Two questions: why you didn’t go with an electronic wastegate? Wouldn’t the bov prevent the anti surge noises Audi rally cars are known for?
@dspencer882711 ай бұрын
Maybe could of got grant parker of. GP turbos to of supplied the turbo parts that he makes ,that he uses on his famous golf quattro

1000 degrees out the waste gate😮 hope thats in Fahrenheit 😂 as aluminium melts at 660c.

The exhaust gasses can go over 1000degrees celsius. In some motorsport application it can max out about 1200degreed celsius.

We test our pneumatic and electronic wastegates at 1,260°C/2,300°F for 1,000,000 actuations. Not one million cycles from 0° to 2,300°F, we start the one million actuations once temp reaches 1,260°C/2,300°F. With water cooling the test runs for over 24 hours or until we run our testbench out of gas.

Such a build and then uses silicone for couplings and no straight gate, either pneumatic or electronic! What a waste! Even my build uses all HD clamps and a Straight E-gate!
