Can someone explain why he got the Beetles spells in the last two fights? As far as i can tell it did more harm for him because they constantly got the divine shield instead of the other larger minions, what am i missing here?

I think the idea was them hitting the Mantids removes venomous (or even kills them outright after they reborn), keeping his big units safe.
