Another cool way to make the maps is to look at the map designs of the Star Wars games like battlefront 2. Mostly the HvsV maps since those arnt so large but big enough to still be bigger than 3/6 or 4/6 map.

This is really cool. I actually threw together some zone mortalis style rules for legion a while ago, although I never got around to testing them. I restricted it to BARC base or smaller, rather than only troopers, but anything moving at speed had a chance to take damage as they crashed into walls/ceilings/etc. Bikes potentially took damage on their compulsory move, while the likes of mandalorians with their jetpacks had to cut their speed or risk taking damage.

This looks so fun, and using Legion rules could really make the r2 boarding units shine. Might even be a fun way to play using Shatterpoint rules, although maybe not the objective/struggle system

I printed a similar set from LV427 to play Deadzone. Its fun way to play a miniatures game. I found the 4x cubes together with open space and light cover were the most exciting rooms to play in.
