fascinated by the aesthetic in this production. Boz looks PERFECTLY lit. Abrash looks like a high end codec avatar (like, slightly de-aged), and maybe bluescreened on a fake, blurred background.

Michael Abrash reminds me of Paul Allen. Meta can be glad to have him and should try to involve John Carmack more. I bet he would be willing to provide input even without any salary.

In 1997 the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) had an event on its 50th year anniversary about the next 50 years in computing. A lot of the topics talked about in the video today were talked about in that conference under different names with earlier versions of the technology. There has been impressive progress in in the 25 years since in e.g. intelligent assistants, and chatbots (in the 1997 event there was a mocked up demo of a chat bot that could answer questions about or as if it were Einstein) but projecting into the future can also be dangerous because the devil is in the details. Some imagined use cases (e.g. apprehending context) aren't just more difficult to implement than imagined - the imagined implementation can often contain philosophical confusion about what it takes to bind user intent to new modal interfaces. You have to be mindful about the fudge factor when talking about "AI" in general terms.

Boz, you guys should go after studios that made switch ports of AAA games. The code and settings for those has to be somewhat similar. Tons of games like Bioshock, Borderlands etc were brought to the Switch.

Voice is a better way to enter text than a keyboard when using VR. What we really need is the ability to use a standard XBox or Playstation controller in any VR game instead of the VR hand controllers. This makes game playing far more accessible when seated. It means you don't have to wave your arms around and risk hitting something. You get all the immersive enjoyment of playing a game without the awkward VR game play mechanics. There is a reason why game controllers have changed little over the past 20 years: They work!

Another thought: Have you tried playing a VR game in a comfy chair that does not swivel? It is pretty much impossible as you can't move your arms to the places the game needs you to. On the other hand, playing a console game in that same chair using a gaming controller is super comfortable. The controller stays in your lap and the screen is in front of you. This is the configuration Meta needs to support if it ever wants mass adoption of VR headsets.

HI from CIS - Kyrgyzstan. Where Horizon? I have Quest/2, probably soon will buy 3, but... I still don't have access to Horizon... I play free VRChat and Rec Room for hours without any problems, but I have no right to use Horizon, although I regularly buy your hardware... It's a shame...
