This was one of the most difficult projects I have ever taken on. From woodworking to plastics, to repetition to electronics and 3d printing, a great deal of effort and time went into making this work! I simply wanted to see a galaxy in real life. I wanted see the interaction between the stars as they circle around, continuous, never ending, and so incredibly beautiful. I set out to create some sort of simulation of a galaxy, and hopefully start to notice things that happen in them, such as spiral arms. However, the further the build went on, the more it started to resemble a black hole. The “stars” are consumed at the end of their journey on the table, which makes me want to take what I learned from this into consideration while planning my next galaxy table. This is the result and process of my efforts, in full HD to your home television set, for you to enjoy!
