Its amazing how after watching this video you realize that these days all modern components are already lightweight, to make a ww bike you have to save grams on each and every part, just swapping lightweight wheels or going for top of the line groupset won't do the trick. Great video as always, respect!

Great build! Question: Doesn't the length of the back brake hose (which is way less longer than if it was routed externally) limit the angle the steerer can rotate? Isn't the same true with the hole which the hose exits the steerer through to the frame? I am planning to do the same type of routing but afraid of such consequences. Thank you

I was also planning doing something similar but share the same concerns. @twistedwheels any feedback would be amazing. Thank you

Uh, I was very much looking forward to this build video and it did not disappoint! Absolute STUNNER of a bike! The CRUX is just such a beautiful frame. I'm very curious about the performance of the rotors and weather they warp easily. Two parts I'd probably change is the Yuniper Seat Clamp, as I've had this on a bike and it broke after about three rides. But maybe they've since improved the product. Also, I have bought the INTEND expander but didn't really feel safe enough to me in the end. I think the Specialized expanders are really nice to work with, I find... though I see you needed the hole in the expander for the routing... Anyway, fantastic build and looking forward to the ride report 😊✌

I’m waiting for Bjorn to release their 5.5g seat clamp in size 30.0mm and will swap it. I used intend on my Scott Spark full susp XC and it worked without issues, so I’m pretty confident. Rotors’ performance TBC

@plepgeat20 күн бұрын
That is gorgeous. As a 130kg man, I can only dream of such a lightweight bike. As for shaving grams... If you fill the tires with nitrogen you will save a very small amount of weight and the tire pressure will be less affected by temperature changes. And if you can stand the ergonomic hit, you can replace the computer mount and stem-cap with a stem cap that has a built in computer mount - that's almost 20g right there.
@TwistedWheels20 күн бұрын
@@plepgeat hi, it already has the stem cap with integrated computer mount ;)

I love this! True WW. However surely Berd spokes would have been better?
@TwistedWheels7 ай бұрын
It depends. BERD spokes would make wheels about 50g heavier. The AR25 rims are quite flexible due to their weight so I find that they work better with carbon spokes that add stiffness to the wheels. If the ultimate goal is comfort then I’d go with BERD. P.S. I’m using BERD on both of my XC bikes and love them.

@TwistedWheels7 ай бұрын
Thanks! The shape of this saddle fits my bum really well, so it works for me but might not work for everyone.
@Nick-qb8di2 ай бұрын
Hey, great project. Huge attention to details. And it looks nice ❤️🔥 I have a Crux myself and in my opinion the spacers are the wrong place to save some weight. Especially with the fork being so flexy they take quite a bit of pressure while breaking on ruff surfaces. Would be interesting how your experience is after riding it a few miles. Did you consider putting on a smaller handlebar? Like a 38 or even smaller? And I think clincher tyres with tpu tubes are lighter than tubeless. But that interferes quite a lot with the riding experience so I guess depends on personal preferences.
@TwistedWheels2 ай бұрын
Thanks. Zero issues with the spacers after riding gravel and several cyclocross races. Nope for narrow handlebars - I don’t like how they feel especially on a gravel bike. Tubes might be lighter but not practical on an offroad bike so goes against my goal of building a practical gravel bike.

Beautiful build! I have been surprised at how much most high end gravel bikes have been weighing these days. Everything on this bike seems like it could last, except maybe that 3D printed steer tube spacer. I think I would have gone with tried and tested carbon fiber for that part. I want to know more about those fully carbon cranks, I have been wondering why there are not more fully carbon fiber cranks out there.
