This couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy. Brent Mason is an absolute legendary guitar player and a really nice person and this signature model in my opinion was a long time and well over deserved build. God bless Brent Mason and God bless the guys at the Fender Custom Shop

Beautiful guitar. Oddly enough, this is my first time seeing this type of bender on any guitar. I've said it before, and I'll say it again; Fender's pursuit of new ideas (while still putting out the classics) is what sets them apart. I wish they had kept the Elite line, but the Ultra does make sense as a natural progression. These limited lines are always something I look forward to seeing every year.

John Shanesy It’s too late for that. Sorry. Probably as lame as the Page tele. It’s a complex guitar here. With a complicated bender. Maybe u can get it first. Then we’ll see. Kids ain’t dumb. By the way. They’re obviously smarter than u.

@beeps1234 жыл бұрын
John Shanesy Simple. Actually the guitar ain’t simple. The bender part is cool. But all the extra jargon. No thanks. That’s it. Hence only the mason fans may consider. If This is modded over a ‘67 reissue then not bad. Otherwise boring artist model. The Danny gatton model.. now that’s something. This particular model would be better off in the standard series.

So what's gonna happen if a buy a Brent Mason replica and I become such a famous player that Fender decides to produce a signature replica guitar of my replica?
@charlesbolton84714 жыл бұрын
The same thing that happened when Slash became famous playing a Chris Derring Les Paul replica. It would be a copy of a copy. Except in this case Fender would be copying themselves. Other than the fact that Brent has already had a signature model with Valley Arts before Gibson ran that brand into the ground.

Y'know I just don't GET paying thousands for master builder Teles and Strats. Leo designed the Tele (especially) to be two bits of wood screwed together. A 70--year-old Broadcaster now worth a fortune was probably knocked up in around two hours by a guy on minimum wage who randomly selected a body and a neck from the shelves. That was the beauty of the instrument - FUNCTION OVER FORM. $13,000 for something MADE to look as if it has been in a car crash is nuts!

Has fender sold a B-bender like this before?
@charlesbolton84714 жыл бұрын
As far as I know Fender has never used the Glaser Bender on any regular production model before this one. They have used the Parsons White B Bender typically. The only exception I know of to them using the Parsons White before this is one of the short lived Will Ray Signature Models from the 90s which had a Hipshot Bender. Gibson had a very unique limited edition model in 2013 called the Music City Junior that is basically a Tele shaped like an LP Junior/Special which uses this Glaser Bender.

The first guitarist to use a B Bender was Clarence White when he was a member of the Byrds. He actually created the B Bender with Gene Parsons who was the Byrds’ drummer at the time. There design is called the Parsons White B Bender, and Fender has used it on The Nashville B Bender Telecaster and a few other Custom Shop Models including the Clarence White Signature Model. Clarence White was killed on July 15, 1973 by a drunk driver while loading equipment into his vehicle. His guitar with the original B Bender is owned an used extensively by Marty Stuart.
@charlesbolton84714 жыл бұрын
The Byrds’ album Sweetheart of the Rodeo from 1968 is great example of Clarence’s use of the B Bender especially the cover of Bob Dylan’s “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere”. The album is considered to be one of (if not the first) country rock albums.
