I made a great drift car a few years ago by adding skis in the back attached to pistons setup so that in drift mode they'd extend just barely enough to raise the rear wheels without taking them off the ground. No extra thrust or anything fancy, just two pistons and a pair of skis.

I made a surprisingly successful way of drifting that I think I discovered first where you put steering hinges on the back wheels, but instead of facing the same direction, they face opposite directions (I used the right back wheel to the right and the left back wheel to the left) you can make the drift a toggle or a hold by just pressing the key to activate the steering hinges in that direction (I recommend spacebar)

I have a drift truck but it doesnt use thrusthers. Also im trying to make a nascar with standard sized wheels but it keeps glitching and gets stuck and i dont think i will be able to fix that

I put my rear wheels on hinges that move up and down. If you angle you tires it loses a lot of traction, letting you drift. Im on ps. I set my R1 to those hinges and the drift happens as I'm holding down on the button or tapping it like an brake. But this is awesome. You have more control with speed than I do.

if you make another one, I have some ideas to help, first of all you can put slim wheels on the inside and racing wheels on the outside and it works the same, and also I would suggest using a gyro or ackerman, an ackerman is basically the inside turning more then the outside on a turn if I remember correctly.
