I love the build egg! I think it would be cool if there was 1 low density residential house in down town, to be first mayor or maybe the founder of orchid bays house? just an idea, but love the old downtown!!

The financial district style assets might as well give that „old“ vibe, especially around level 2 when they slowly turn a little more modern. Could be a nice wrap and use of those assets

Haven Harbour has a nice, old town ring to it. I think that would be a great name for it. Going with this older vibe turned out well. Keeps the area distinct so it's not just more sprawl from the main metropolitan area. I can picture the CEOs and board members of these older office buildings all being in their 80s and 90s and still wearing their polyester suits from the 1970s.

At first I was a little nervous that this side of orchid bay wouldn’t be so beautiful with all the industry in such a small place but wow! This part of the city is probably my favorite now between the skyline to all the older looking buildings. Very beautiful old town!

Love how that area has come together :) the Locomotive Halls unique would make a good addition across from the abandoned train station, not sure if you’ve used that asset yet

You nailed the vibes, and I love the small plops of height. That Taiwan skyscraper is glorious isn't it! I can totally see the idea here, where this was the original downtown before business really boomed in Orchid Bay. The city developers realised there wasn't enough space in that small tucked-away district so they built a whole new all-purpose CBD to cope with demand. It would be nice to think that a few companies decided to remain in the old downtown though, for nostalgic reasons!

Having a new OE episode always makes me enjoy the rest of my day! Every bepisode/build seems different from the last. I really like the botanical garden, the old train station and the use of 'general' assests, which screams to me 'last hoorah for CS1'. What I do miss in an old town build is a cathedral, or any kind of religious building. It's an old town. The old folks that are sitting on the pier complaining about the new downtown definitely all go to church on a regular basis, at least to bury their old friends (as morbid as that may sound). During the vid my eye kept being drawn towards the cathedral unique building. Unless it's been planned for another episode I would really like it here in the old town. Keep up the good work, I'm a big fan of your real world inspired cities! PS: I loved the rainy old downtown!

If there's a prop of a steam train, the disconnected old station could be either a steam afficionados club or a historic railways museum. On special days the old steam mechanics can sell tickets to the kids for a ride in the steamtrain, letting the mechanics drive the steam engine up and down that little bit of track, generating income to restore it and teaching the steampunkers how it all works.

Great Build! Something I’d love to see that I’ve never seen before that may help with your quest to use every asset, is building a large outlet style mall off the Highway. Often these are located pretty solo with maybe a small community around it for workers. But these are typically HUGE expansive, single story out door malls with giant parking lots located off their own exit from the highway, usually way out of town.

I wish that remnants of the old train line carried further into down town. Really have that look of abandoned. Maybe intersect with a few roads but have the “dug up” appearance at buildings. We’ve got that a lot in my down town area. Use to have a huge rail presence but was mostly removed. Only signs left are a few tracks in weird spots and a few loading docks. Love the build!

Nice little build. I did notice that a few times where you said you were going to zone residential, you instead zoned commercial, and then you removed more residential along the way. You might want to double-check that you still have more than just that small block of Brooklyn and Queens residential zoned. :D

Beautiful build today, Egg! I wish the lighting was better in this game though. I don't think CS1 calculates light reflection and so if a building face isn't in the direct sun it looks awful, it's so unfortunate and annoying. Looking forward to CS2 and I hope they fixed this!

We should name the old town Orchis, meaning a genus of about 20 species of terrestrial orchids. Since We're in Orchid Bay, I think it makes sense to call the old town Orchis as the origin of Orchid Bay itself. Could be interesting.

The Botanical Garden area + the greenbelt on the foothills + the old, overgrown train-line look like they could be combined into a park area. For the lore, maybe it's a historic heritage site that the city has chosen to preserve.

I love this! Haven is beginning to seem like the Salford to Orchid Bay's Manchester if you understand that (both are much nicer though haha) I think it's lacking a pedestrian connection across the highway to the stadium / transport hub / waterfront, but otherwise this is such a nice build.

Tiger Orchids are the longest living orchids IIRC, so the eldest orchid in the world would be a Tiger Orchid. Maybe something Tiger related might be a good name? Panthera tigris is the Latin name for the tiger. Something from that?
