Thanks for wasting an hour of my life! I couldn't stop watching this. I barely have the patience to true a set of tyres so this seems incredible. Beautiful car.

Man, I was cringing every time you swung that Sharpie around your newly painted car! I know this was recorded, but I thought for sure you were going to mark it. It looks beautiful. Great job!

Lol, it wasn't so bad, paint cutting compound can clean up the odd slip if needed. Thanks for watching 🙂

The way I look at it is, it's wrong for a very long time if I don't spend a small amount of time at the beginning.

Hi Rob, a very impressive build! Brilliant finish .. another superb episode, Thanks. Something else you may want to try if you get a chance, try White Spirit from B+Q for cutting back/cleaning up Tamiya P/L/wash, when using cotton buds etc .. I find it quicker and it leaves no residue. Also, I find Mr Hobby GX100 clear gloss leaves a smoother finish which appears to dry with a greater shine, but doesn’t contain any UV protection like the GX112, either way, both are great single stage clear lacquers, and somthi g to think about when re-stocking. - Keep up the great work 👍🏼

I always get a bit freaked out with using chemicals on a top coat finish, I know I'm safe with a 'T Cut' type product, but it can get down in the details and be hard to clean out. Thanks for the pointer 🙂 I've got some white spirt kinking about, I'll try it.

Mineral based W/spirit won’t harm Mr Color clear, it’s very safe so long as it is cured. Thanks again for the great content Rob.

I hammer pendle slot resin kits round a club track and they hold up very well when compared to other makes that are more light weight.

Buy the car here:-www.pendleslotracing.co.uk/pcs-volvo-850-estate-btcc-touring-car-kit.html The box is from Team Slot, Pendle can also supply that.

Good day sir, I came here looking for some tips and tricks on this particular car (or closest i could find on the internet) its basically the same car but its not the wagon its the normal sedan but same exact sticker kit and so forth, Only difference is i think its a older model because the chassis has what i would call almost like a independent suspension in the front and the front axels turn alongside the guide thingy with the brushes so they can turn left and right, also a SCX car obviously but like i said looks like a older model that has some more moving parts in the front. i cant really find anything on the interwebs so far, The car is not broken and drives but i would like to restore it and maybe change the engine to something newer and abit more peppy, the only sticker thats on the engine in the car has (6273) on it and thats all, cant really find anything else about this engine like rpm and so on. Anyway thanks for the vid and im new to this slot car scene.

It sounds like you have an old SCX VOLVO 850 (No15 Rydell) www.ebay.co.uk/itm/135287494130?_skw=SCX+VOLVO+850&itmmeta=01J9F63FN6SJH63B0PHWCEEVJ4&hash=item1f7fc355f2:g:cBwAAOSwrMdnAUg1&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKkET7aqu25onguThDczJLNPliCGICTUQ%2BoVomC5wYNVBUfUASr3goisn6xDDCsgrJCmGMgoH3KgyVcobGhb0fLzJApjwZsNDwAJZ0luZE0owgfYsAm4Q%2BVh5TXH1XPmEebu9K05kVks05h3IPnXYyqAR85WrebzpYpp4KgSYGswshdWGMtuXLYdgK2mIE5ahhg7bQSB4fiapfBLVjq8puVEejvnWpvuJyVanLHXPDsTdKq1eLokpfVp2reebqUdl3A%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR9b6jebLZA The best thing to do is contact Pendle Slot Racing and ask them to recommend you a replacement motor. If it were a simple 'S can' motor that would be easy, but it gets harder when the motor used is one of the older types that now fall out of the standard. You maybe able to fit a 'Long can' motor with a hand made adaptor plate? Getting a new motor in it is not the hard part, finding one that fits and having the ability to make it fit could be the problem if you are not handy. If you are in the UK, I can do it for you as long as you cover all the costs. (I'd make a video about it).
