Very impressive. You are no doubt a much more experienced modeler than me. Nevertheless I have a tip for you. When painting the black parts you can avoid “bleeding” by painting in white first. Then, when the white paint is almost dry paint the black on top of it. That way the “bleeding” will be white and the edge will appear totally sharp when you remove the masking tape. And a minor criticism. The bottom part of the Saturn V do have an aluminum edge as you made it. But it should go a little higher and then lower part of the fins should be aluminum too...
@GeorgeSundancermusic Жыл бұрын
Thank you, Kjeld. Someone else gave me the same tip about the bleeding. It really was a great kit to build and I might do another one and be true to the aluminum colors. Thanks again!

Thanks Marc. It was fun building this. It's not as creative as Blender, but fun it was :-)

The Saturn 5, a beautiful and elegant ship. I built mine 25 years ago and indeed, there was a lot of warped components but not that much of flash as in this case. I can remember that painting that cone, is a challenging task even for an advanced modeler. Very nice work.

Thank you, Charlie. It was indeed a challenge at times, but so worth doing it. It looks amazing once finished. I hope you still have yours.

Nice work! I'm building this now, and I'm happy to know the ugly seams weren't a problem just for me. I hope mine turns out as good as yours! 👍👍

Thanks Steve. Yep, despite the seams it was a great model to build and I hope you're having as much fun with it as I did. It's still one of my favorite models.

intricate and detailed work. Nice that you have all the right tools and patience to do a excellent job, a work of art!! The speck of a person on the base shows how enormous this rocket is. Thank you for sharing your work and the process. I was gifted an RC kit, very beginner, haven't put it together yet, I did buy some tools, you have given me inspiration.🤗🚀👏

Thank you very much, Chris! I remember you got the RC kit and you planned on building it. That must have been almost 2 years ago? Time to get to work, Chris :-)

Thank you my friend N ! You probably do have the patience to put models like these together, you just don't realize it, haha. When you compose your great tracks, you take all the time in the world too :-)

One word comes to mind while watching this vid, George. And that word is... persnickety! Must you fill every little visible seam?! Good gravy! I guess being a perfectionist isn't a bad thing though. I would certainly want the builders of the real thing to be perfectionists if I were gonna fly in it! But does your tiny plastic crew really warrant such perfection?! 😁 It's a good thing you paired this vid with your relaxing musical perfection, G., 👍‼️ I woulda went nuts watching your persnickety perfectionism listening to just the sound of a ticking clock, 😵!
@GeorgeSundancermusic Жыл бұрын
Haha, your comment sure made me smile. I am far from a perfectionist. I just knew that if I had to look at this model rocket and see big seams despite paint trying to cover it, it would drive me nuts in the end. Besides, it kept me off the streets for a while, lol.

Well, that second track sounds like music that would be played on a crime or detective show! I just thought that I'd start off with that. :-) Anyway, very cool visual editing of this project, dearest George! I'm studying all the different camera angles and segue ways in this production. As I told you before, I used to love to do stuff like this! Did you get this kit at the hobby shop in Newtown as well? Were any neighbors making weird noises and distracting you while you were working on this? Ha, ha! You have amazing concentration and attention to detail! Beautiful music and wonderful overall production! Big hugs to you! ~Michelle

Building a model kit sometimes feels like an investigation in a detective show :-) I wanted to build this Saturn V for a while, but they didn't have this kit in the hobby shop, but a hobby shop on eBay was kind enough to have it in its inventory. Neighbors making noise? It's so quiet that sometimes I wonder if I actually have neighbors. Thanks for always leaving those kind comments. Hugs back !

Well what can i say im buildings it right now and im panting the stage interior a little bit diffrent than you did,in my opinion the first stage engins were a little strange to me because i never saw it like that,and.the paintjob at the very top was a little wony, but in all your modell looks great!! I just have 1 question. What paint do you use for the apollo capsel to make it so silver and shiny??
@GeorgeSundancermusic4 ай бұрын
@florinfarcas4004 It's good to see you're building it too! For the capsule I used Mr.Color Silver, number 8 (if I remember correctly)
@florinfarcas40044 ай бұрын
@GeorgeSundancermusic thank you very much! I loved the video. Well, as a pro modell builder, it's sometimes hard to work with the colors from revell. I asked for the color because the metallic color from revell is really bad.
@keithsweat75138 ай бұрын
Thankfully ONLY 82 parts Revell has gone to junk! Maybe that’s the same mold since 1970! That almost eliminates the joy of building a model when you have to fix so many imperfections in the kit
@GeorgeSundancermusic8 ай бұрын
I was happy the way it turned out, even with all the imperfections. I'm working on a kit from AMT now and those molds are horrendous.

I NEVER use Tamiya Putty, that shit is garbage. Vallejo plastic putty works much better.
