Wow, that takes me back! About 40 years ago I built the Airfix version of the Crusader. I recall the plastic on the front of the hull was so thick it could have taken a round or two from a real Panzer! ;-) Great build, as always

I built the original Italeri. The details were worn away, the locating pins and mounting marks were faded or just missing. The instructions looked like a 1950s comic book and the parts weren't numbered on the sprue, you had to work off the sprue map. Not worth a discount price, never mind the premium it went for. Tamiya would fix all the issues with it, they just don't box things that bad.

Andy, wonderful video... I was wondering, could you please explain the purpose of the paint retarder? I apologize, but I didn't understand the function of that product.
@AndysHobbyHeadquarters8 жыл бұрын
Hi yes the paint retarder slows the paint from drying very fast and it allows it to level out and get rid of brush strokes, so it gives a smoother finish

I have the original italieri kit, it wasn’t bad however for some reason italieri kits usually have you melt the wheels like how you melt the vinyl tracks which stops the ability to remove the wheels for better access to the inner hull, also the instructions that Italieri makes can be quite confusing sometimes

Silly Putty makes for a wonderful mask for airbrushing. You can mold it to conform to the shape you want. It will not leave behind any residue. It won't pull up dry paint. You can do a base paint. Then mask it off where you want 1 pattern. Then mask over again any other area to keep what you want or pocket in areas if you want to do smaller portions. Airbrushing over the silly putty won't ruin the putty either.

Great job, Andy, as always. Do you sell or have you heard of Black Dog resin kits from the Czech Republic? Their specialty, if I am to believe their website, is add on accessories for a whole host of kits from across the 1/35 spectrum. No, I don't work for them, but I sure would like to see some of their stuff before committing to a purchase. Again, thanks for all your work, been a subscriber since the beginning, I think. hi Andy, I've been after this tamiya paint retarder for a while now and can't get it in the UK! I was wondering if you had any ideas. I can't get the panel line accent colour by tamiya in the UK neither. I've tried an eBay seller, who sent a completely different product all together. I ordered the paint retarder and she sent me, from Japan, tamiya limonene cement instead! so I'm wary of getting, or trying too, from eBay. any suggestions please? love your videos, keep them coming. Nice video. I like your work overall. Don't you think that showing the difficult parts of the build would really help out the average person using these as build guides though? You tend to skip the difficult and only include the easy parts. Then say what you did in retrospect, but that isn't very helpful in that if we go to build it and face that problem. Thanks

hey! really great content here! I have a question, if I had cement glue, an airbrush and paint, a file and tweezers, would that be enough to build a model or two? and if it is how do you wash out the airbrush after you've used it for one color? thanks ahead of time!

Hi Andy! I'm 51 and back into models. I started building again a few months ago, and I now use an Iwata Neo Airbrush (very happy with it), and Tamiya paints and some Vallejo stuff. My question, is this, after a coat of Tamiya, how long should I wait for it to dry? I'm typically allowing 24 hrs after priming, and overnight minimum for the tamiya paints. Does blow-drying work?
