I pretty much only follow YT channels where it is someone excited about what their are doing and want to share it with other like minded individuals. If they happen to make a side income or even become a full time YT - I'm more than happy for them! Sharing something that you personally find of value is a sure way to eventually get viewers IMO, as other people will find it of value too.

Those diagonal reo bars are to resist cracking that would start from the weak spot at the corner of your cut out, smart move cos cracks always seem to take the path of least resistance.

When we were kids, we had all sorts of crazy ideas, including digging our own tunnels by hand (35 years later, they are still there). This sort of stuff just appeals to the inner child in me and I wish I could do something like it! I hope that you're able to get done everything you want to do. It's really cool. Thank you for sharing. And may YT take off enough for you to at least help a little with the finance part.

Just a suggestion: concrete shrinks as it cures always. Insidently, it also generates some heat as it cures. The steel re-bar cage actually expands some as the concrete warms up but shrinks back as it cools. The concrete only shrinks as it cures . Over its life, any expansion of the concrete is minor. As the concrete shrinks a lot more and faster than the steel rods, you want the different pieces of rod to be able to slide a little to prevent cracks forming in the concrete. Thats why tie wire is used. The only welding ive seen in years of concrete work was to make very large re-bar longer. They used a special cad-weld just to make a continuous long verticle 5cm bar. I really enjoy your work and wish you the best.
@tealkerberus748

Rebar formed into welded mesh is very commonplace around here. Even for reinforcing beams in concrete slabs, they use trench mesh - three bars of heavy rebar bound together with very light cross bars.

Shuttering with metal looks a lot nicer than trying to do it with OSB/Ply. Topdon products seem pretty good, I have been using one of their diagnostic tools at my workshop for the last couple of years and it works really well and is way cheaper than running a snap-on/Autel/Bosch, I have been looking at the thermal imager but can't justify the cost to how much it will get used.

This was fun to watch. When we pump concrete in norway,usualy we use a pump on a crane,then we pump around 3 times. ,that way the concreete can settle a bit under halfway, before we do the last two trips atound(offcourse all the same day when it is wet). When concrete get a little time to settle,you kinda remove a bit of the preassure to the frame. If that made anny sense? Looking forward to more updates. Keep up the good work😊🇸🇯
