I bought this utility trailer for just $200 and challenged myself to build a trailer that was beautiful, functional, and cheap enough to build. With the help of a bit of new material, and a lot of reused scavenged material, I will turn it into a luxurious solo micro RV camper. The camper can probably sleep two, but just barely, if another section was added.
The Jackery 1500 Explorer Portable Power Station: shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=173271...
Jackery Solar Panels shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=156864...
We also outfitted the camper with a Cubic Mini Wood Stove: cubicminiwoodstoves.com/colle...
The flooring was from Bigelow Flooring: bigelowflooring.ca/
We used as many salvaged materials as we could, from the parted out garage door sections for the frame, to the windows from an old camper RV we took apart last year. The trim was from an old house we renovated.
The wall sections, trim, and siding are all mechanically fastened with nails or screws and glued with construction adhesive to make sure they don't loosen up when the trailer is hauled on the road.
We added lots of extra features like an outdoor cook station that drops down, interior storage in open wood containers, drop down desk and fold up Murphy bed to free up interior space. The camper is outfitted with interior and exterior lighting, hook spots for cookwear and clothing.

"Self-Reliance" is an 1841 essay written by American transcendentalist philosopher and essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson. It contains the most thorough statement of one of Emerson's recurrent themes: the need for each individual to avoid conformity and false consistency, and follow his own instincts and ideas. This channel will approach self reliance from a modern perspective. and will focus on various build projects using modern amenities, and tools to build a completely self reliant lifestyle.

This book kzbin.infoUgkxT9ExVpR-3A-9rpRqx8vzXKZ3BMMTg_KH does have a lot of great information on the building of sheds, design ideas, building options, etc. The author goes through the steps to build a foundation, framing, roof, even ideas on internal storage and external finishes. The text is easy to follow and understand. There are many sidebars that give tips and advice which most laymen probably wouldn't have considered. The photographs are great quality too. This is a great book and I'd recommend it highly for anyone needing or interested in building a shed.

A nice “throne” can be made from a folding lawn chair. Remove the ribbons from the seat, and fasten on a piece of plywood in their place. A hole in the plywood, and a toilet seat facilitates the “sitting and thinking” part. Place your lined 5 gallon pail under the chair. A roll of TP in a coffee can completes the outfit. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying.

Somebody makes a toilet seat that attaches to a bumper that folds up and out of the way for storage. He could attach one of those to the outside of this micro rv and you could sit a 5 gallon bucket underneath it.

Wowwww! Such a fantastic job! You could use those plastic chip bag clips to keep your shower curtain closed against wind. They come in lime green color. Also I would cut off each corner on the wood that holds your toilet seat, so it does not dig in the legs. You have many wonderful features on here, it is totally awesome. Another suggestion is to glue or velcro on some rigid plastic, a narrow strip on the bottom of your black out curtains , to keep them from turning up at the bottom. So the weight keeps them down. 😁💙

15 gallons = 120 pounds. Interesting video. Consider mounting the black hose over the entire surface of the roof and cover with a plastic sheet to trap heat. Do you have any plans to permanently mount the Jackery solar panels to the roof? They could cover the solar water heater and improve efficiency of both. Thanks for sharing this video. according to the EPA: Because carbon monoxide is slightly lighter than air and also because it may be found with warm, rising air, detectors should be placed on a wall about 5 feet above the floor. The detector may be placed on the ceiling. Do not place the detector right next to or over a fireplace or flame-producing appliance

I stand corrected 😁 I just saw many videos on camping with small space enclosures that usually place one smoke detector on the ceiling and the CO detector on the floor ( f ex Buddy heater stoves that have a CO system detection buily into it) and that is why I have suggested the same 😊

just use a pool noodle around the rim of the bucket instead of the seat

I was thinking put the pool noodle on the bucket and then connect the toilet seat to the pool noodle so you could have a lid on it for multiple day compost toilet type application.

That bed has gotta change bro. Looks like you'd be better off on the floor. None the less, the amenities are glamorous!

Carbon dioxide is a small part of the air we breathe and heavier than oxygen. The detector is for carbon monoxide which is lighter than air. Thank you for that nugget because I enjoyed the research part. Took me a while to clock u were talking about dioxide. My reading needs a detector!

off topic, but, speaking of showers, I have an indoor and outdoor, I prefer outdoors during warm weather, don't ask me why- I haven't a clue. Probably because it cuts down on cleaning the indoor shower

Both glamper trailers look great. If I had to choose one, I’d give it to you, Kevin. I could give the toilet a miss, but having the windows make it a little more livable. Excellent job 👍🏼

I think that you both win. I think that your miniature house is beautiful, really is gorgeous!!! But I do not like stuff hanging on the outside, it just doesn't look pretty. But yours has more modern commodities, I "ll give you credit for it. On the other hand, Zack" s little treiler is missing on a lot of stuff, like a shower, windows, etc. But is beautiful and cozy. Everything is tucked away. And he has a big bed, at the end of the trip is what we most need when traveling or camping away from home. I enjoy both of you!!!
