Kayla, in pack settings you can turn off the 4 rent specifics to turn off tenant revolt etc which should make your family gameplay easier. Also for your cat issue with them not recognising each other... Keep a towel (unwashed) with all the "family" scents so when a cat has to go to the vet you can rub down that cat and get them to smell like normal again.

If I played this build, I'd probably end up swapping out the window on the Fire Escape for the ones from the High School pack so a sim could actually climb out the window onto the Fire Escape. Seems like a great sneak-out method for teens

In this packs specific settings there is an option to turn the events off for landlords. Currently I am playing in townhouses of 4 too with my extended family and it makes the storyline so much easier to apply and play. I highly reccomend you to try it that way.

The tenant revolts are coded to happen as often as any of the other parties events like pet adoptions, and then have a higher chance of happeneing with bad living conditions. So its almost guarenteed to have your family members revolting at some point which is sort of annoying, but will probably give us good video content.

On the topic of cats not recognizing each other after surgery: my cats both got spayed at the same time because they're sisters from the same litter and it was easier to just take them both in on the same day. They both came home drugged out of their minds with their little e-collars on and everything, so not only did they smell different, but I'm sure they looked like aliens to each other. It was so funny to watch them stumble around and growl at everything, but we did have to keep a close eye on them to make sure they weren't fighting because they both think they need to be pro wrestlers any time they're on drugs.

The game just supplies a third party landlord if you don't assign one. I have an apartment lot in del Sol valley that only has tenants in it and the game just gave me a landlord. Kind of like how it works in city living. You can still purchase the lot if you want to own it.

I am really hoping that you will add a basement suite in silver's house for barb, i know you talked about how you dont want to have a vampire in the legacy that doesn't die while all the sims from their generation are long gone, but barb's mom was a vampire too and she died pretty quickly... Vampires are the least Immortal out of all of the occults, I wouldn't worry about Barb living too long, it'll just be fun to see how long the vampire bloodline in the family can last before one of them inevitably wonder into the sun😅 maybe you can even set her up with one of April's brothers

12:37 Simsie, to combat the vet smell when one cat comes back smelling different, my family rubs the at-home pet with a towel to get their scent on it, then rubs the same towel on the vet cat to transfer the smell so they aren’t so angry with each other. I hope this helps :)

i love all the different approaches you can take to playing the sims. Kayla avoids cheating more money for her sims but will cheat their needs and i am the exact opposite. in my mind half the fun of the gameplay in the sims (besides the obvious building and character + story building) is trying to keep your sims alive and well and relationally successful when they seem determined to do anything but that lol. i'll cheat their money all day long if it feels like a hinderance, mostly because their stories are already written out in my head and it doesn't make sense canonically for all of them to be broke.

That also happened with my cats! Once my youngest got spayed my oldest was like "who is this brand new cat that you brought in" when they used to cuddle and groom each other and play beforehand. They're close again but its not the same as it was before. Once they get fixed their scent changes bc of the change in hormones, sometimes they do fine, but sometimes they act the way yours and mine did. Also I had no idea Snap was already 15 omg

We use a small dog outfits (like a Sherpa lined sweatshirt and a collared cotton t-shirt ) to cover the back of my cats neck and between his shoulder blades when he needs it. He has an allergic reaction to gnat bites - occasionally one will get into the house (like 2x in a decade) and he will absolutely scratch and bite himself bloody. The first time it happened, I had to take him to the emergency vet at midnight - and there was a very unhappy stabbed police dog there, and poor kitty had to go to the back without me to get shaved around the scratched area and the dog was there and he’s never gotten over it. He no longer likes or trusts people who are not part of the household, and he used to be a super outgoing friendly social cat. My cat has PTSD. Not making light of a serious condition- that’s how the vet described it.

The issues you had with your kittens are somewhat similar to what we went through with our kittens two years ago. We have Thor and his sister, Theia - Thor went to the vet first, and when he came back, Theia kept kissing at him for 2 days. Then when it was Theia's turn for the vet, when she got home...she kept hissing at Thor. Thor was a wee sweetheart throughout - his sister is just spicy. But they're all friends now, along with my older cat Smudge.

Miss Kayla, perhaps you can make use of the Vault in your sims lives? I personally don't like to cheat money numbers. I currently have a household with a human that drinks vitality nectar, a vegan vampire, and a spellcaster that was adopted by them but makes her potions. I've embraced farming for them so they grow their own ingredients for their respective drinks and potions. I have the vault in the basement to hold all the ridiculously large amounts of money they make. That and children who grow up here usually move out with a million of their own.

Why wouldn't someone take some space from an adjacent unit when they own the whole building? I live in a 100 year old duplex and the previous owners definitely weren't thinking about resale value when they made renovations. :P

8:48 i have a save where i did something similar and you could just move the fam without buying the lot, that way the game will generate a landlord and everyone will pay to them and not you :) personally, i preferred to buy w the landgraabs before moving my sims in so i could also set the rules and price (this way u could just set the price to zero without having to worry about the bills 35:50 edit: I HAD AN IDEA!! what if instead of your sims renting to family it was the goths? maybe mortimer and bella had this townhouses for a while and gave them to alexander as a engagement gift to him! (this way it would also prevent tenant revolts AND the need for money cheats lol)

4:30 my peach generation of NSB ended up having 5 kids (i only planned 4) so in their driveway i put a big CC van and also a police car since the mom was a detective. i don't often use cars but it was a fun story thing. so to people who don't understand why so many people want cars, this is why lol. i don't mind having to download CC for it, but some people can't.
