Hey, Connor. Food for thought. When you put your sinew on the end. I would strongly suggest, that you go a little bit crazy with the sinew. Compressing the base of the foundation, the more solid it is, the stronger it will hold your nails/staples. Sometimes I will apply sinew at the head of all the layers of plaiting. A rock solid base makes for a rock solid foundation.

Making the knot really tight has the same effect.

@@caliberwhips9595 at the start, definitely. But without something to really bite down on the Staples/nails, the foundation can slip off. Trust me, I know.

Would it be OK to use fishing line instead of artificial sinew in this part of the whip? Or is it a bad idea? Thanks!

Yea that is a good idea I don’t recommend putting it in thong tho

You can try it, but I would advise against it. Fishing line seems to be too thin for my liking.

I think what you were trying to say was after ypu apply glue wait until it starts to tack, or get tacky then join them. Nice knot 👌

When using the 9-10 oz cowhide for the heel, does that accommodate a 2 pass or 3 pass 6x7? (With 550 of course)

why is your whip not all leather?

Leather is a totally different animal (no pun intended). I would need more time and money to learn it. I just don't have the time anymore.
