Coming along so nicely and so quickly. 👍👍 I look at the space and think, "wow, I could get 2 or 3 more lines all around." 😄 In the end, you do you. Have a plan and then be ready and willing to alter it as you go along and figure things out. Great stuff! Cheers!

Thank you, So I would like to have an extra line for the Goods line. I'm no expert on how the lines were but I am on the same thought path as you. I think with the 009 layout running as well it will be cool.

OMG! I live in wellingborough and have recently wanted to get into the model railways! Won't be starting my own layout till i get another place but could start collecting bits now. Will look forward to going through this build as i'll be doing the exact same thing (pretty much) when i do start the layout!

Hi Neal, if you're struggling with the pins then why not try using brass drawing pins. You can take them in and out by hand. I used it on my Hornby set track for years until I finalised the layout. 👍
@philparrish88924 жыл бұрын
Good progress but a tip I had from Chadwick railways was to pin the track at each side of the track not through the centre as the impact of the pin can bend the track inwards. just a thought - your railway - your choice.

You're slightly ahead of me, I've got the bench work done and boards down in the loft but not started laying the track yet, hopefully after Christmas I'll have the time!

Well done on your progress. I would recommend using a pair snip nosed pliers with the peco pins took me ages to work that out. Really well shot and presented video

The sped up nailing of the track pins was oddly satisfying to me, frustrating to you lol. Great job! Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed the first two videos. You may fine your platform is to low now you have added cork under your track. Maybe worth double checking.
@OONeal5 жыл бұрын
So this was one of my concerns but lining up the coach next to the platform the doors were still above that level. If i needed to I could always raise it up at a later date. Thank you for the advice.

Hi I keep coming back to your videos they are just sort of down to earth and not to technical...if that makes sense ... Anyway I spent ages doing up my loft, boarded out, fully insulated, installed a window and all the power...all my baseboards are in, ive bought some track and with a few ideas in my head I'm off...l got some cork yesterday....do you use 2.5mm.?.there i was about to pile loads of pva on it and you only do the edges so I'm already rethinking about how to secure it...i need to check through to see if you have any point motors installed.? Take care

can i please ask how much the initial cost of wood is etc. i am wanting to convert my loft also and gradually build a layout up overtime. also ehat part of your room is the loft hatch located in and does this cause issues with the layout. thanks
@OONeal4 жыл бұрын
For me I already had the wood and it was already boarded out. As for intitial costs its all about how much you want to do. You need to figure that out and then get to a hardware store and start costing it up. As for the loft hatch you can always make a cover for it for once your up there.

Starting to take shape. What era are you building? Would recommend not hammering the nails all the way in. so if you need to amend at a later date. they are easy to pull out..
@OONeal5 жыл бұрын
So I like the Great western railway so it would be everything they did until nationalisation. note taken on the nails thank you
