I usually don't like your videos but this guy was smart, to the point, informative and very funny.

This is one of the best "show not tell" explanations of how to use body filler I've seen.

All that work with using a non-porous ladida and then cleaning it afterwards with liquid brain fry is unnecessary. Instead use a paper block on a flat surface. It mixes just as well and no proporties are changed. After use, just discard the used piece of paper and you´re good to go for the next round. (though if you have a lot of leftover bondo, wait a bit before throwing it out since the curing creates heat) I´ve used this approach on both windmills and display furnitures.

I use a stack of paper plates for this. The cheap ones are like $1 for a stack of 50 or so, and when i'm done mixing one, I can just peel the plate off and use the next one.

That's a good idea. I'll still need liquid brain fry to clean the tools, but at least I won't have to worry about the mixing surface. Thanks.

Do you find that the Bondo sets harder than the material you are applying it to? This would make it very hard to sand a smooth transition back into the original material.

Good point. As "Bondo" was designed to be used on metal, I'm curious about this as well.

in this application it doesnt matter, the fiberglass wont need that sort of precision.

nintendolunchbox Exactly, this will just be a plug for a mold and then tossed away.
