too bad they used an infinite screw on the back of the leg to make it slide up and down on the rail... this kind of mechanism is used to (VERY!!!) slowly make something very heavy move with a small chance of it to go back, the concept should have used *high-pressure actuators* or electrical motors... so in hindsight 20/20 that was a bad idea even though it's cool to see the little circular cap spinning... but makes no sense, even at the time, so it'll be weird for you guys to pay attention to that particular detail... oh well, looks unbelievably cool anyways! I ALWAYS loved the ED-209! =D Good luck guys!!!!!! =D

Awesome ! I have a question : How would you do if you want a part that needs to be fiberglassed all around it ? Because you need some space inside to seam the parts together.

Make two parts and bond them together from the outside after you've removed them from their molds. Either that or make the part big enough to live inside of for the rest of your years.

Shawn Thorsson Haha my question seems pretty stupid with this answer. The good thing of bonding from the inside is that it seems to be pretty easy to get a flat and well poslished surface afterwards. If bonding from the outside with fiberglass, should we use other layers of gelcoat all over the enclosure to hide the bonding ? Thanks for your answer and insight. Love this Make series, you are doing an awesome job.

Can you please start labeling these consistently, such as ED-209 week 1-bondo, ED-209 week 2-fiberglass, ect... I really enjoy watching these so far but they are hard to search for on youtube and even on your own Chanel because they are always titled so differently and don't even mentiong ED-209 consistently. I just don't want to miss anything or have you miss out on fans following this build. Thank you for attempt ing this I've always wanted one.
