Thanks for putting these videos together. It was a real pleasure watching such a pro do this kind of work, as well as the shop tips and tricks working with materials I've never worked with before.

Absolutely beautiful. When I saw the first video and I thought "no way it's going to be done". It should move, would be AWESOME!

It actually does move. Makes noise too. Not sure why they didn't get any footage of that.

Just finished watching this series. Awesome presentation of the process of building, Shawn. I'm currently building the old Horizon 1/9th scale vynyl kit and had been looking around for ideas on the paint scheme. You're series has given me alot of ideas, and one main question. I realize the cost of making all the wood/fiberglass/silicon molds and finished pieces is quite high. Did you track the total cost of design > modeling/prototyping > molding > assembly/finishing? If so, how much in USD is your final build worth? Not factoring in any collectible/sentimental value?

If you'd pay me enough to cover the cost of the months of labor and the pile of expensive materials that go into it, I'd be glad to help you out.

why not using a working hydraulic system and a bunch of scrapped electric motors, controlled by a cheap laptop? it could then be a win if it were operational.

I imagine because that would be really hard and take a really long time... going from 'great big prop' to 'actual working robot' is not so simple.
