Yes, he went far away to Australia, I think, because local jobs were scarce and paid little. This little family was poor, and he took advantage of this one-time opportunity to prosper them. IMO.

трудолюбие и умение этой девушки восхищают! Но.... В стенах много щелей и если зимой они ходят в курточках - будет холодно и сыро. эти стены надо дополнительно как-то обшивать. Опил - отличный материал для мульчирования . Просыпьте им все дорожки - будет чисто и не надо скоблить постоянно убирать траву

Well the husband's gone to work far away to earn money to renovate there house. However, the wife bought an abondoned house main timbers etc transported with the support of the community, and now she's completing the house.
