BUILDINGS With BEGINNER GEOMETRY NODES 3.0 - Part 1 Color Blocks

It is about time that I updated the Geometry Nodes beginner tutorial for 3.0. If this is your first time using geometry nodes, I am certain that you will be able to get through these tutorials. If you run into issues please don't hesitate to leave a comment.
On another note. if you are wondering why my blender might look slightly different, I use a paid version called E-Cycles. It renders faster than vanilla blender and has some other features, however, this will not affect the tutorial.

It's nice to see that the offset trips you up sometimes too. The first time I ever tried using the array modifier around a circle, I had no idea that I had to apply the transformations first and I spent about two hours just trying to get it to line up right.

Just to document the issue i had with my base object (red cube) not showing up, make sure your geometry node is attached to something like a plane and make sure that the plane is not in a collection with another object.

Do you use Nvidia Real Time Raytracing? What PC do you have?

Do you mean the real-time viewport using Nvidia Optix? If that is not what you mean, we use the Cycles engine! My computer has a 3090 and a 3950x AMD Threadripper with 64gb ram.

Thank you for this tutorial! This is te first time trying Geometry Nodes and this helps alot. 8:43 - Shift P is not working for me. Ctrl G is working but it is collapsing the group. I need to press TAB to open and close the group. It opens in a new window. Am I doing something wrong or did blender change? I'm using Blender 3.0

"Node wrangler" is a basic addon for Blender. Activate to enable shift + P.
