The serene interiors of this house create an oasis of happiness, harmony, and togetherness in the midst of Mumbai’s bustle. Remodelled from a 5 BHK to a 4 BHK, the house is designed for a Mumbaikar couple with kerala roots. The interiors feature keralite furniture pieces that hold ancestral values coupled with contemporary interiors to create a home for the family to grow.

There is nothing Indian about this house. Its more like a Parisian house. The usage of white and brown decor lends it a very European feel. Us browns with the hang over of the white man ruling us and love of white lands will obviously love it. The glee with which the Architect was explaining the wallpaper from abroad is telling. There are a lot of amazing artists, artisans in India; and, timeless beauty in Indian designs and design ethos. The rich who can afford architectured beauties can contribute in maintaining these art forms by incorporating them into our houses.

90% of so called indian art is tacky. And finding good indian art pieces that is aesthetically pleasing is really hard because people in our country don't care about such things like antiques or paintings. Other than film making and music, artisans have no scope here

@@Youthuba I completely disagree. I've seen some amazing Indian art for decor. Be it Madhubani paintings, Athangudi tiles, woodworkers from Rajasthan, there are a dozen kinds of Carpets one can choose from all over India. No offense, but saying Indian art is tacky shows you haven't seen good Indian art.
