Man, this movie was so tough to watch, and was extremely real to me. I too was born with a cranial-facial syndrome and had several surgeries. One thing that people don't realize is that real families with children like this had to travel long distances for treatment and surgery. The toughest thing was becoming friends with others in the hospital or sharing a room with a child crying in pain, and to find out they passed away over the night. I had some bullies in school, but the worst was from adults. It can be very traumatic as I battled depression, but you also appreciate your friends more when they can see beyond the differences. I especially admire my wife of nine years for accepting for me. Auggie's reactions in this movie seem genuine and this little boy is a great kid for his kindness.

Jacob did an amazing job playing Auggie. He is a handsome kid in real life so transforming into this unusual looking boy and going thru the makeup routine every day must have been grueling. on the first day of fifth grade for me, my teacher pulled out a medium sized short book it was about the size of a binder, it was called wonder what I saw was a face no ordinary face it was different one that had one eye one big ear one small ear i was confused my teacher started reading, i saw a book of precepts And the full book so im like uhm i dont really want to read that much untill 3 months later i find the trailer im like im so confused the movies coming out? so the next day i told my teacher i saw the movie trailer and she said we are going on a feild trip to the theatre in cortney to go and see the movie i said YAY everyone did we just finished the full book today and we all clapped i gave it my loudest clap beacause i was proud of aggie.
