Just wanted to say this was a great interview... truly appreciated the depth of questioning on the single subject of his mother... on mother's day. For those commenting here that the interviewer asked the same question repeatedly... she did not. She knew his mother was his singing coach and mentor and so she cleverly used questions surrounding her to elicit the most honest and heartfelt answers about his musical and personal background thru today. I'm a longtime hall and Oates fan and most interviewers ask the same questions answered hundreds of times previously. This interviewer did her homework and focused on the right subject. I learned a lot about Daryl hall... honestly one of the best interviews.

I adore Daryl and I knew he had great relationship with his Mom, but this interview was so odd and awkward! The interviewer was really strange and so much repeated odd questions. It was like such awkward silence and shed come out with another odd questions putting him on the spot. I give him credit for keeping his cool.

I had no idea what a really decent guy you are...and you look amazing, sound incredible, and you have really had rough times as well. I feel you on the relationship pain ...I have declared a moratorium and am good with just my dog and me. I can't imagine going through any more grief at this stage in my life. My mom, Bc especially my dad were super supportive of my music since I was 12. My dad paid for lessons at the Air Force Academy.... studied under 2 percussionists, every week until I was 18 ish. What an incredible gift they gave me. Though I did think I might have to peel my mom off the ceiling after my afternoon hand in my bedroom with a full drum set my dad bought, and my stereo blaring. God how I miss them both!

I love this man and his music! I named my now almost 22 year old daughter Sara after Sara Smile. I was only 4 years old when that song came out and I’ve adored it since I was a young child. I can’t think of a Hall & Oates or Daryl Hall song that I don’t love, I just love some more than others. What an awesome interview and man!

Great question from the guy @ 17:09 about playing more obscure songs from the catalog. I'm a long time fan of Daryl Hall + John Oates (over 35 years now) and although I might not necessarily want to hear something from the "Really Smokin'" album (which wasn't really an album, but rather a collection of pre-Atlantic tracks), I'd love to hear songs like Head Above Water, You're Much Too Soon, United State, Grounds For Separation, Who Said The World Was Fair, Bigger Than Both Of Us, The Last Time, Tell Me What You Want, Hard To Be In Love With You, and Everytime I Look At You live. I'd especially love to see Daryl play the criminally underrated Sacred Songs album live in its entirety someday. P.S. Yeah, this interview lady is a total wack-job, but ya gotta love Daryl, the consummate professional!

I don't know what you're all talking about, a lot of questioning by interviewer made him, think and thats her job, hes been a professional for a long time, he knows when you've achieved what he has, you have to available to the people who help you to become popular and wealthy, he absolutely enjoys his progression in his life, and good on him, the more I follow him on KZbin, the more he impresses me, he came out of and through a great eara of time with music, of self made musicans , I m 64 now and thoroughly enjoy daryls house, I just wish he could do some of it now in 2023, it would be loved by all, all over again , especially with a bit more of john oates
