Amirah Vann is SO intelligent, and brilliant in how she express her views. I just became acquainted with her works in The Underground which she was superb in. I also see she's not underrated it was just me catching up on movies I missed. But she absolutely seems like she will be among those greats like Cicely Tyson, Diane Carroll, in their league. A very brilliant actress, and singer. I watched the whole 2 seasons, of The Underground in one day, and want to watch it all over again. I've watched many black history movies that were all good, but this one is about the best I've seen. I got a deeper understanding. Thank you.

When my coworkers told me to watch....I was like hell naw, I don't want to see another slave series where they don't fight back. After watching the first episode....I'm hooked. This sister is beautiful and the bomb (ok I just told my age) I love her talent and I hope this show gets picked up.

I know, you get hooked, another show that was great too was "kindred" it's about a black woman from 2016 and she teleport back to the 1850, she keeps going back and forth to the past and present. Her boyfriend is white and he gets teleported back to 1850 with her. It was such a a great show, they cancelled it after first season.

But if they take her off I don't know how committed I'll be to the show.

@Kea Did you see her on Queen Sugar last season finale? That was my introduction to Ms. Vann. In just that 3 minute performance, I was hooked. I immediately binge watched htgawm. Amirah is a powerhouse when it comes to acting.

I love the consciousness that governed it but the contemporary music throws everything off for me. But it does bring home the current state of our enslavement. Amirah much love.
