It isn't just the maximum hp that matters here; it's also how the manifold pressure varies with rpm between the two different FI system. The Z's turbos are generating maximum boost and torque at low rpm, while the Vortech centrifugal supercharger is a parasitic drag on the engine with boost that varies linearly with rpm. Of course, the Ford has an extra 1.3 liters of displacement.

how are you only getting 700hp on 21lbs of boost on the 370z? Even with 21lbs u should be making nearly 1000 hp. Theres 370z set ups making 700whp+ on 14-16lbs of boost on stock block and same transmission with an upgraded clutch. Is this 700hp to the crank or to the wheels? cause stock single big turbos make 600whp+ easy on a good tune on pump gas with only 12-15lbs of boost which equals to about 700hp at the motor.

Was honestly between buying both of these cars. Ended up goin with a 17 gt. Couldnt be more happy with it. It wasnt till after the fact i found out how much power these engines can hold. For the price of bolting on a supercharger youre 600 to 700 whp reliably. Fucking nuts.

the 370z is about 3250 and 3350 with sports package while the mustang is 3800+, the mustang is faster stock. but a bolt on 370z can keep up with a stock mustang in a straight line. on a track its another story all together

Kern O'Leary mustang is more like 3700 and 370z is more like 3300+, mustang has more than 100hp stock and even a fbo tuned 370z barely keeps up with a stock coyote, coyote still pulls on it lol, 370z nismo is a lot faster and that with bolt ons can actually barely keep up with a stock coyote lol but don’t kid yourself you’re comparing a fbo car to a stock car, just shows how ahead the coyote is for the same price as the z, and the z isn’t a monster around the track unless you get the nismo, but at the price of $50k you’re better off getting a real car like a corvette that could smoke both of these cars in either track or drag race

Kern O'Leary first off the block itself on a 370Z can have 800hp the internals can handle 600hp stock!!! 2nd 370Z tune with a good kit run along side with GTRs an Porches as well as 5.0s but damn 435hp stock from a 2015-2017 GT stang is not a big deal 335hp with a turbo kit a single kit at that on a 370z can be boosted to 700Hp with a few other mods... people act like stangs are pushing 600hp from factory... please.... 435 isn’t shit either..... but for the price I would always buy a stang over a BMW tho.
