Built/decompressed 6.9 IDI sled pull

2016 8000lb street diesel class, 2 top ruritain fall tractor show. 240ft good for second place. Had some new general grabber's on it but still couldn't keep traction down towards the end. Plan to run it some more this year.

It's decompressed from 21.5, to 21 compression ratio...

That sled was around 48,000lb on that run, old terminator was a stone boat

6.9 idi was decompressed out of the factory

@BL Dontmatter what? The compression on both the 6.9 idi and 7.3 idi is higher than my 7.3 powerstroke. It makes sense to decompress an idi for a turbo.

@@psd28 From my understandin, even studded they had issues holdin the heads on under 20 or more PSI boost so they had to decompress it. Since the 6.9 has a smaller 7/16 head bolt while the 7.3 has a ½inch head bolt & can handle much higher boost

This one was decompressed to 18:1. Running a multi-layer stainless head gasket set. Boost was north of 30psi
