Built in Storage Bench // Breakfast Nook Space Fix

For this week's video, I build a bench for my breakfast nook. The idea here is two-fold--to make better use of the space and also to create more storage for lesser-used kitchen materials. Enjoy!

We didn't end up adding any cushions--just sit on the wood.

I have an existing built-in nook that was included in my home, was thinking about cutting the top surface and turning them into lids and making it into storage space. Having a hard time finding videos on anybody else doing that.

Can you post a sketch up of the final design/measurements you used for your bench after the issues and adjustments you encountered. I have one I want to make for my kitchen and the dimensions won’t be the same but it will be a great foundation to work from

Oh man, I really wish I could and will try to figure that out, but I'm not currently that skilled! I did this off of a vision in my head and a hand drawn plan. BUT, I will say that it's a pretty simple wood frame that is then skinned with 1/2" MDF and then trimmed out with ripped 1/2" MDF to give that faux shaker look.

Yes, the small box is 20" x 20" x 60", the large one is 20" x 20" x 72". Thanks so much for the love!

A lot of your work you were attempting to share was just off camera - just an fyi to check your field of view to know the perimeter of your camera.
