Just wish it also included a way to secure it with a D-lock to the rack. It looks awesome at being able to go wheeling with it, but really want to be able to sleep overnight car camping and not wake up with no bike.

Hey Frank, the steel anchor point of the RambleRack can work with a serious chain style lock, in addition to the handle lock, and I personally even add a U-Lock through the rear wheel around the steel main tune of the RambleRack, so that’s 3 locks. Good luck having something locked more secure.

@@rigdsupply6945 Thank you 🤟 So glad you thought about security. Pretty sure a power cutter would wake me up 😅. Not sure why the video recommended not to travel with the chain on. Is it the weight of the chain bouncing up and down that can damage the bike? Or what am I missing?
@rigdsupply6945 Жыл бұрын
@@fpartidafpartida the weight of a chain could do some serious damage to your frame, especially if it’s carbon (most of ours are) not to mention potentially rubbing on your rear shock. I don’t wanna risk that kind of damage if I hit some bumps on or off road.

How long are you guys testing? By that I mean, it’s one thing to run it down some hard trails and take a look, but longevity-wise is my main concern. Maybe running a super long trip with it over all types of terrain would identify some bolts that could come lose or parts that might fail?

Thanks for the comments, we have been and continue to do long-term fatigue testing. However, video footage of us going on our 14hr road trips and daily commutes is far less entertaining in a KZbin video lol. These tests help us with additional accelerated abuse and help to try to pinpoint those fatigue areas faster. With our team's prior experience and background, issues like loosening bolts or small part failures have been very well thought out and also have lifetime serviceability and replaceability that make it very likely to be the last rack you'd ever need to buy.

Where is the ultraswing? That thing would be wobbling like crazy!!
@rigdsupply69452 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. We've tested the RambleRack extensively both with and without the UltraSwing. Although you're right in that the UltraSwing adds movement to the overall system compared to static mounted in the hitch, in the testing shown in this video, our purpose was to create the harshest control test for the rack and the bike itself. Although you'd likely see more movement of the bike and rack with an UltraSwing in this environment, that additional flex actually dampens the potential shearing possibility for the RambleRack or the potential damage to the bike from a sudden harsh jolt, which is what we were testing for in this instance. We'll be posting plenty of videos with the UltraSwing on it as well so you can see how they perform as a system.
