It almost looks like a punch with forward pushing, but it is not. What I demonstrated is to shift the body weight to the front leg first. Then, execute one inch punch using the hip vibration.
Putting the center of gravity to the front leg will make it easier to generate powerful punch. With one leg forward, it is easier to connect that leg with the hip vibration.
It is more challenging to generate same amount of power from Shizentai 自然体, Heisoku dachi 閉足立ち, Kiba dachi 騎馬立ち, etc. This is so because you need to connect both legs to the center or Seika tanden 臍下丹田 and the whip spine.
I will share a video tomorrow on how to practice the timing and the connection of the legs and the arms to the whip spine.
