Most pathetic kata I’ve seen! Where is the torque and commitment! My god!

So sloppy, so loose! No torque! What happened to turning your head before you move! Shameful martial arts! Sad to watch!

The back leg isn’t connected to give power! And the punch is using small muscles instead of the muscles! Understand what he’s trying to explain! But the technique is old! Oss!

99.9% of these high ranked Shihañ have never been in a real altercation. Its all based on supposition. I discarded my Dan ranks many many years ago 1976 to be exact 😩
@danien3729 күн бұрын
yea yea, what about the attackers other fist ?
@g.k_motivation20929 күн бұрын
Shihan is explaining that is why he is doing slow otherwise shihan can hit the opponent before doing 2nd punch
@danien3729 күн бұрын
@@g.k_motivation209 but a decent attacker will obviously strike with there other hand before the defence is finished. These routines do not work in proper fights. imagine trying that in a UFC fight.

I am just learning this kata and watching you perform it is inspiring. I especially like the kimes and that is what I hope to achieve. Your technique is an amazing blend of grace and power, the essence of karate in my opinion. Oss

This is how I understand it. I think this is one of the reasons why people crap on Karate they see the "blocks" which look mechanical and slow and think they are not effective but that is because they are being practiced in a stationary stance or maybe 1 step back and forward with an emphasis on perfect form which looks mechanical. In reality it is more dynamic and a soto uke would look more like a parry used in boxing or Gedan uke can be used to scoop away kicks like in Thai boxing. In Shotokan sometimes the lead hand is used deflect the attack and the rear hand receives the attack using the actual Uke technique. I think schools should use the term deflection instead of blocks.

How is that man so flexible at that age? I can’t even hold my sole while standing. Also are they training on a tiled floor?
@ruanlinkerpessoa39464 ай бұрын
It is not uncommon to train in places such as these. It's probably some school room/hall. In my experience, I've had worse, depending on where you are a regular dojo with mats or wooden floor tend to be expensive
