Great video 👌I did a 2 night trek my early 20s in 2001 + I had a similar + amazing experience with 2 young guides. Glad to see the tourism hasn’t changed the simplicity + charm of the area or the beautiful trekking experience. I also visited Palau Weh on that trip and am surprised but grateful to see the lack of development on the island (after the tsunami). It has barely changed, like it was magically frozen in time ✨Looks like the devastation on the mainland in 2004 really kept the island protected. Have recently started traveling again with my 3 kids and I hope to take them to these places. Although my husband won’t enjoy that there is no alcohol available 😂. We are visiting Penang + koh Lipe next month. When i visited Palau Weh in 2001, I took a ferry from Penang to Medan then bus to Banda Aceh. Now you can just fly to B.Aceh for similar price! Amazing

Yeah I think that’s the charm of it. Now actually you can get some alcohol in Pulau Weh, nothing special but might be something for your husband😂 But yeah, I loved that place. Been there twice and both times it did feel like an island of peace and quiet with very few rare tourists here and there. I really liked it. Maybe it’s not as convenient as Thailand and Malaysia but its wilderness and calm was very attractive to me!

Most probably! I’m now curious to explore the west cost of Sumatra. There are so many islands on that side and I’ve never really heard anything about them

@ Yes, would love to explore these areas more. I’ve seen ppl vlog staying on the mentawi islands and it’s definitely secluded + off the tourist track.

That could be a cool trip to do. I’ve heard there are some really nice diving spots but with quite strong currents. This could be something exciting to explore☺️

Wow! You had such a close encounter with the wild animals 🤩Thank you for the video!!! I could have never done such a hike, but it is such a pleasure to see the jungle and its wildlife this close from the video 😍

Glad you liked it!☺️ I tired to make it a little more personal than my other videos to give a bit of a taste of how it would feel like to go on a hike like this. I hope I managed to show it right😅😊

@@alrightanton sorry to hear you got food poisoning. I know those tours are not cheap and on top of that they fed you unsanitary food
@alrightanton8 ай бұрын
Ah I wouldn’t blame them for this, none of my friends got the poisoning just me. I think it was more of a problem of my stomach that it couldn’t adjust to a new diet quickly, we’d eat rice three times a day, I’m not really used to that and then just the whole physical pressure was quite a lot so I think my body just couldn’t handle it anymore😂

Pity , that i had to watch so many ads to see this me, me,me instead orangutans
@alrightanton7 ай бұрын
Haha well to be fair I’ve added every single shot of the orangutans that I saw there. This is a travel blog format. In a way I wish I could be making videos entirely about the places and not including anything about me much but then no one watches this stuff. Why would they if they can go to some BBC planet and see the same in a much higher quality format. My observation is that people do seek to watch things on the topics they are interested but in most of the cases a presence of a person telling a story plays a massive role in helping the videos to get more views. Rules of the genre
