32yrs back,i ride a bmx but the trail wasn't like this at that time.no mountain bike at all inside the trail until oneday i saw a single kampung house and stop to take a look when suddenly i turned back there was a malay uncle said"ahh you have been caught no way to run"when i realized i never did saw this house before when i entered the trail with my friend,a little questions this and that to him and he told me he lived here already longtime ago with his daughter...i kept thinking this incident overnight and decided to return and see that kampung house and that uncle the next day,but there were no where to be found again untill today.now i am 43yrs old,i believe if i were to meet him again,maybe we are at the same age now🏁😂

Wow your climbing is impressive! I’ve just started riding during the lockdown and tried riding BT for the first time a couple of weeks back. The climbs were too tough for me. What suspension bike do u ride and do you have tips on improving climbs?
@EdmondOng
@EdmondOng 3 жыл бұрын
I normally keep both an XC 100mm travel bike (epic sworks) and a enduro bike (yeti SB6) like 150mm and above travel all trail riding. Climbing well requires good techniques so that u stay efficient and track well ie pick and commit a line, stay low up front and sit at the nose of saddle etc. For fitness tips, try Google more about interval training to improve your vo2max threshold and overall fitness.

Is it worth buying full suspension or hardtail with fork 120mm enough for singapore terrain and trail?
@EdmondOng
@EdmondOng 3 жыл бұрын
I would recommend a full suspension bike still. There a couple of trails like Gangsa (Chestnut Bike Park) or Kent Ridge which will be more fun and definitely better with a capable trail bike. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6XVk6KlZ9BnpJo for Gangsa trail (Chestnut Bike Park), see kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJ6uY5aur9-AmKM for how a hardtail with 100mm front sus can tackle Bukit Timah Trail.

Hi, appreciate..the advice here just went trailing from Wallace to BT. 1. 740mm (I'm using) or more handlebar width (760, 800mm for more control?? 2. My pedals, sometimes hit the rock..any tips?
@EdmondOng
@EdmondOng 2 жыл бұрын
I am 1.73m, average build, not wide shoulder and using 760mm bar for enduro and 720 for xc bike. Crank is 170mm for longer travel bike to minimise pedal strike too. Can't quite do much unless you buy a higher BB bike or ride with higher sag stiffer sus.

Is this for beginners? Do you need a bike with suspension?
@EdmondOng
@EdmondOng 3 жыл бұрын
While I have done this trail on a hardtail with front suspension, a full sus trail or XC bike will definitely make the trail most enjoyable. Not recommended for beginners though, there are however less challenging alternate lines to take. Recommended to try with caution and take it easy. 👍🏼
