Bul armory 1911 COMMANDER

First time I've ever seen a Bul Armory not work.

Beautiful gun. The issue with the gun not going into battery and not staying open on the last shot is usually a magazine issue or a ammo issue. Bul Amory has a great reputation for quality. 45's traditionally need time to "break in". I'm sure you will love the gun as most do.

I would try some Wilson combat or Chip McCormick mags, those mags have cured almost every feed issue I have had on a 1911. When I buy a new 1911 with the exception of Nighthawk, I will sell the mags that comes with the gun and replace them with Wilson or McCormic mags. If those mags do not cure it, I would take a good look at the feed ramps.

I have around 1000 rounds through mine and have never had an issue. Got to use good ammo, not cheap stuff. I also use Chip McCormick magazines.

Did you ever fix your feeding problems? I found that with mine I had to make sure the cartridge sat completely down in a case gauge or it had problems. I also went with ACT-MEG magazine and that helped.

I have the same issue with mec-gar mag with one mag out of 8. Bul uses mec-gar mags. The other 7 mags ran flawlessly. 1911s are often having issues due to mags.

My Magnum Research (made by BUL) had two fail to go into battery in the first 100 rounds. The new mags springs were super tight and I was firing flat-nosed ammo. Cleaned the gun ran another 100 rounds, except with the correct ball ammo, and no more issues.

Most likely the issue is with the ammo… I wasn’t using proper ammunition when I first shot it and had similar issues..

I heard Chip McCormick 45 ACP mags are good, too. Then made mo betta recently. Couple others are good, too.

How did this gun work out? I hope it's working better after some break in. I like the 1911s. My favorite carry gun is an officer size sig 1911 in 45acp. The barrel is 3.1" but the gun shoots very well and is accurate. I like the smaller 1911s.

I own this same gun, have had a few times it fails to lock open on last round, I checked my grip, fired several more magazines WITHOUT an issue……. Never had the failed to go into battery issue……. That being said, I watched this video several times….. I believe your issues are maybe caused, like mine were, from poor grip mechanics…… I notice the weapon moves around in your LEFT HAND a bit……. Which if you know anything about stove pipes, etc……. They are instituted by lack of a firm, proper grip….. there used to be a video floating around where a guy took the most reliable hand guns at the time, and showed he could make them malfunction by using a POOR GRIP……..L

Get some Wilson Combat magazines, they're a bit pricey but TOP NOTCH quality. It's what I use on my Colt 1911.

In 50 rounds, I had 1 failure to lock open on a last round. I never had a failure to go not battery.

1st time hearing about bul armory lol im liking it. i see the usual 1911 fail to feed. I would swap it out for a willson combat mags those are my go to.

Man... Bul is my personal absolute favorite handgun manufacturer. You get all the high end features with none of the high-end price. I'd bet my bottom dollar that all your issues were ammo related. I've never (and I've done my research) I mean EVER even heard of a bul armory firearm failing like that. My review of this review: FAKE NEWS
