I think the griffin had less flash., the Surefire had more flash to the naked eye.
@CabinPews5 күн бұрын
@@infinite8686 the griffin definitely had less flash to my surprise. Surefire claims it eliminates first round flash, but that might be on a 16” gun idk, but it definitely had a constant flame.

Griffin’s stuff is underrated. Their dual lok mount might be the best mounting system for a fighting rifle currently on the market.

Question for you: Is the muzzle device on the Surefire a Closed Tine Warcomp? It looks like it, but I'm not sure. If so, I had horrible flash performance from both warcomps and the CTNs. I have no idea whey (guess it effects the flow of gas / pressure spread) but I switched out to the muzzle devices on my guns to the break, 3 prong, and the SFa2; no more flash. Also, the carbon on your hand is easily explained if that is a Warcomp. That muzzle device leaks like no other. The ports blow gas into the locking collar and out the back towards you making the suppressor louder and causing more carbon build up on the locking ring. Pew Science goes over it in his testing but I've also have first hand experience with it. The normal CTN also exhibits very similar behavior. My suggestion would be to pick up a 3 prong or break if you plan on shooting mostly suppressed. If you're not running the can often, Warcomp is awesome...love the 3 prong WC myself but the ole 416 has enough extra piston pop sound =/. 10/10 video btw!...sorry for the wall of text lol

The surefire device is the closed tine warcomp. now that you mentioned it remember surefire saying if you use the warcomp with the RC3 it will have excessive flash, so im sure thats why it does with the RC2. I was using the can on a 3 prong 14.5" gun last night hunting coyotes and didnt see any flash at all. interesting info on the carbon deal. that explains why i didnt have any carbon on my hand using the 3 prong. Thanks for watching and the info!

I was wondering why he said he thought the Surefire would have less flash, it has a flat end port where as the Griffin has somewhat of a typical "flash hider" pattern, and the Griffin had less according to this camera

The griffin definitely surprised me

@CabinPews Ya, i saw another comment after i posted this where u said surefire claims it eliminates the first round flash, so i understand why u thought that! I don't own any suppressors, so i cant speak on it with any real knowledge, just assumptions, and that tiny flash hider on the front of the griffin told me it probably was better for that! Good video, definitely informative!
@CabinPews4 күн бұрын
@@jun1orbaitor44 hopefully you can get a suppressor at some point. i hate shooting unsuppressed now haha. I assumed the surefire had it lol, but a little more tech in Griffin showed itself. Appreciate you watching!
@michaelmcmurray52243 күн бұрын
He assumed the surefire would have less flash because it was designed to have like a 99% flash reduction or something for spec ops but it also depends on the ammo you use 55gr will have more flash than 77gr
@jun1orbaitor442 күн бұрын
@@michaelmcmurray5224 Interesting, didn't know that about the SF suppressor. Ill have to look into that further, see how the cores differentiate. Truthfully, im not a fan of SF, i believe they're over hyped. Their flashlights sure are, and as far as suppressors go, i don't have any real world experience, but from the dozens of videos ive seen, there are better options for cheaper. That mount click sure does sound nice though!

@ anything HUB is a win. Even me as a ffl/sot id love a surefire for myself but then i need to invest it a different mounting system and for how many rifles. Etc.

@@boostedgsr8580 agreed. I built most of my rifles with surefire devices before I even moved to a free state where I could own a suppressor, so naturally the first one I bought was the surefire.

@ yea sir, i mean i plan on buying a rc2/3 here soon to do testing but, for someone who shoots once a month or less i tell people to run a OCL polo K. If you see all the DB tests, surefire is sitting at 140 overall.

The carbon on your hand is most likely from gas leaking out of the back of the RC2.
