@@FOUDEFOOT85Objectively, I’d say Romania. For Italy 1990 World Cup Romania eliminated Bulgaria beating them 3-1 and 1-0. And Romania also get qualified for that tournament and get eliminated in round of 16, for euro 1992 Bulgaria won against Romania 3-0 and did 1-1 too but Romania finished over Bulgaria in the qualifying group but unfortunately both didn’t qualify for euro 1992. In 1994 both get qualified for USA 1994 both passed their group Romania eliminated Argentina in round of 16 Bulgaria eliminated Mexico and in quarter of final Romania get eliminated by Sweden and Bulgaria won against Germany and go to semifinals but will lose to Italy and Sweden for the 3rd place match. At EURO 1996 both get qualified but both get eliminated in the group stage, they meet each other in that tournament and Bulgaria won 1-0 but as we can see, Dorinel Munteanu scored a clear goal who was cancelled. Unfortunately at that time the was no VAR.. After the failure of 1996, Bulgaria and Romania qualify for France 1998 World Cup, Bulgaria had some difficulties to qualify but Romania did a great performance, 9 wins and 1 draw in qualifiers. Bulgaria get eliminated in group stages in that tournament loosing to Spain and Nigeria and did a 0-0 against Paraguay. Romania did a 1-1 against Tunisia but won also against Colombia 1-0 and England 2-1 and finished 1st in their group they get eliminated by loosing to Croatia in round of 16 0-1. After that second failure for Bulgaria thing will not progress at all, Bulgaria didn’t qualify for euro 2000, Romania qualified by beating and finishing over Figo’s Portugal. And Romania get eliminated in quarter of finals of euro 2000 loosing to Italy 0-2 after passing a difficult group. Lose against Portugal 0-1, draw against Germany 1-1 and victory against England 3-2, they finished 2nd of their group and they goes away to QF. The last time that Bulgaria qualified for a major tournament was at EURO 2004. After EURO 2000 Romania will qualify for EURO 2008, 2016 and 2024. It’s unfortunate that both countries didn’t have the same level back in the days let’s hope that they will come back 😓 But obviously, on the paper Bulgaria was better than Romania in 94,96 and 2004. Romania was better than Bulgaria in 90,98,2000,2008,2016 and 2024 (I remain objective, we don’t really care of qualifying failures 😂 By the level of these 2 countries the important think is to qualify for a tournament ) So with all of this, Bulgaria and Romania remains two countries who had a high level in 90s who could have won a major trophy with the level that they had but they didn’t won anything unfortunately…
